Tales of Innocence Japanese version - Image 1After last week's new releases, it doesn't come as a surprise when Media Create's latest software sales chart for December 3 to December 9 is almost dominated by previously released titles. Some newcomers such as Tales of Innocence and Lost Odyssey, however, fought for the top ten and came close to claiming Wii Fit 's throne.

Despite their obvious differences, fist, blade, gun and magic can all meet together in a synchronized dance of destruction and death - and we see gameplay video proof of it with this latest battle movie of Namco Bandai's Tales of Symphonia: Innocence for the Nintendo DS. Prepare to hear teenagers and adults shouting out the names they've given to their flashy moves as they deal out pain to their enemies in this video, with all the grace and synchronization of a ballet.

With the Nintendo DS being not really a powerful bit of kit when it comes to graphics - it's rather surprising to see that the combat scenes of this Tales title is, quite honestly, robust. The combos are smooth and look as painful as they do (even more when you realize that they're being chained together into one massive string of hits), the animations and effects slick and flashy, and the action intense. It's really quite something to see.

There's also the fact that the characters are all robustly modeled (like each one of them is easily distinguishable from one another) with their costumes and looks neatly translated from paper and onto pixels. Very nice. Check out the video below and see what I'm talking about. Enjoy!

Fans of Namco Bandai's Tales franchise should be pleased with this Tales of Symphonia: Innocence update. We've got a handful of screenshots coming your way, as well as profile pictures of the two new characters: the green-haired Spada Belforma and Ricardo Soldato, who apparently is a soldier (yeah, we made that guess partly because of his name).

We can't help but drool at the sight of how Tales of Innocence will look in the Nintendo DS handheld: fully rendered in 3D, and the fights will adapt the usual real-time battling system that is inherent in most Tales titles, ensuring frantic mayhem jampacked in a handheld.

There's not much information available for this sweet DS RPG  for now, but here's the screenshots to tide you over (or make the wait more unbearable for you).

More updates as they come!

Tales of Innocence scans - Image 1 Tales of Innocence scans - Image 2 Tales of Innocence scans - Image 3

More Tales of Symphonia: Innocence joy coming for you in delicious incomprehensible scan form, courtesy of the good people at Famitsu. We get you the skinny on what's to expect with what could be one of the best-looking role-playing games for the Nintendo DS to date.

In this Famitsu scan update, we get an eyeful of not only the characters we'll be spending a lot of time with in this latest Tales adventure, but also the locales we probably will be stumbling upon at one point or another in the game.

Quaint and detailed, it's a throwback to simpler, more old-fashioned times. The world map itself looks very clean and expansive, so there's definitely going to be quite some exploration in store for us. We also get another peek at combat, with both Luca and Iria giving baddies the what-for, sword-swinging and gun-slinging combined.

It's to note that both characters and monsters look very detailed in the scans, and from what we've seen in the game's trailer, combat looks to run at a very fast and very brutal clip. Which is all kinds of awesome.

The Nintendo DS is certainly getting its share of epic RPGs, and Namco Bandai's Tales of Symphonia: Innocence is definitely a great addition to any DS owner's library.

Just days after Namco Bandai's announcement of new Tales iterations, the new Tales of Innocence trailer has just been released, showing off the video game's full use of the DS's 3D graphics. The video also introduces a couple of the game's protagonists. The game looks sweet: the battles look like they are done in real-time - like other Tales games - and the 3D graphics are nothing short of awesome.

There are also lots of air juggles in combat, and Namco Bandai and developer Alfa Systems made sure to show them off just so it sends the right message to fans of the game. Tales of Innocence is surely going to be another good game for the Nintendo DS.

More updates as they come!

Tales of Symphonia scan - Image 1This is an update of an article posted earlier today about Tales for the Wii and DS.

Tales of Symphonia
fans rejoice - the series is confirmed to make its way into the next generation, with titles announced for the Nintendo Wii and DS, namely Namco Bandai's Tales of Symphonia: Knight of Ratatosk for the Wii and Tales of Symphonia: Innocence for the DS.

It seems that Tales of Symphonia: Knights of Ratatosk for the Nintendo Wii is going to be a faithful continuation of the beloved RPG on the GameCube, while Tales of Symphonia: Innocence for the DS is going to be a new game entirely.

While we don't have any information yet as who in the original cast could be making their return in the Wii title, or what new characters will be featured in the DS entry, the highly-relevant scan from NeoGAF to the right of this article might just give us a clue.

In any case, updates about this latest development involving the Tales series as we get them. Enjoy the scan!
