logoEidos Interactive has teamed up with developer Zoonami Ltd. to bring us yet another title to add to our growing list of puzzle handheld games.

The upcoming game, entitled Zendoku, will offer both single-player and wireless multi-player modes, and will combine action with Sudoku Gridmaster gameplay. According to IGN, the colorful characters in this puzzle game will be set against a Far Eastern backdrop with a bit of a martial arts theme.

Players will be required to attack or defend against a challenger, or work under extreme time pressures while trying to complete one of the game's puzzle permutations. Other than that, not much details have been revealed by either of the two companies. But Matt Gorman, Director of Marketing for EI, says, "Zendoku brings a new and fresh perspective to the enormously popular Sudoku puzzle craze."

Zoonami's CEO Martin Hollis also boasts that what they've basically done is turn your good old paper-and-pencil game into an interactive "puzzling, battling, micro-gaming, fighting extravaganza." As we said, information on the game is still scarce and no official release date has been announced. We will keep you posted for more updates.

gridmasterLooking forward to your summer trip but dreading the long flights and car trips to your hideaways? Let Sudoku Gridmaster keep you company. With over 400 brain-racking sudoku puzzles, you simply won't notice the time.

Sudoku Gridmaster for the DS features four levels of difficulty which allow newbies to get acquainted with the game, and experts to get on to the most difficult puzzles. With the touch-screen feature, writing, changing and saving the answers is a breeze. It's one of the first titles under the Touch Generations brand. Nintendo aims to get non-core gamers to get into video gaming with the launch of the brand.

Nintendo has put in a few enhancements in the game to make your Sudoku-solving experience a little bit easier. You can highlight an entire row or column with just a quick touch. You can also save a grid for hours or even days so you can get back to it when you feel like jump-starting your brain.

Sudoku Gridmaster will hit stores in North America on June 26.

Almost all major newspapers have been publishing Sudoku puzzles in their entertainment or comics section, and recently, handheld versions of this numbers game have sprouted as well. Games such as DS' Brain Age and Sudoku Gridmaster have already capitalized in the craze.

Although the Sudoku Gridmaster has already been out in Japan last March of this year, it is just about to step onto U.S. shores this month, with that, here is a packshot of the game. So if Brain Age's sudoku puzzles isn't mentally stimulating to you anymore, then get this one.

Have you already finished all the Sudoku puzzles included in Brain Age? If so, Nintendo will have a second helping with Sudoku Gridmaster. Sudoku Gridmaster uses touch-screen controls that make solving the puzzles faster and easier than ever. Players simply touch the square they want to fill in, then touch the answer on the number pad. They also can choose to forgo the number pad and write answers directly on the touch screen. The game features more than 400 sudoku puzzles, all of which were hand-picked by the Sudoku masters at Nikoli – the original creators of Sudoku. The release date is set for June 26th so until then go ahead and check out these screenshots by clicking the thumbnails below.
