This week on shelves, we've got another plentiful supply of nice releases that we can sink our teeth on. The PC and the Nintendo DS are getting the bulk of fresh launches, but the Microsoft Xbox 360 and the Sony PlayStation 3 titles are making up with quality games such as Eternal Sonata and Stranglehold respectively. The Nintendo Wii also has a new fill of quirky but fun titles that the young and the young at heart will be happy to tinker with. Overall, it's another good week for the industry so get ready to bust out that wallet and empty to on the cashiers.Coded Arms Contagion. Konami's explosive sequel to Coded Arms is here and it's set in a VR world of a military training program. Randomly generated levels and square rooms are gone to give way to a heavier emphasis on story over action.

With Sega's Sonic Rush Adventure for the DS due out this month of September, there's plenty to look forward to even before the launch day. We'll be complementing our recently uploaded trailer with another batch screenshots - about 112 images worth of Blue-hedgehog zipping glory. Also to look out for in this new screenshot blitz is new concept art, which portrays Sonic on a water bike, making off with what appears to be a generous pile of pirate booty. Check back again in case we pick up any game-related updates - but for now, enjoy ogling the screenshots. All 112 of them. The rest of the Sonic Rush Adventure screenshots are available in the Full Article |

Here are more portable videogaming goodness from GC Leipzig, and this time it's the official trailer for Sonic's latest high-speed adventure on the Nintendo Dual Screen (NDS), Sega's Sonic Rush Adventure. It's fast, it's furious, it hearkens to the day when Sonic the Hedgehog games were all about speed and nothing but - and with some 3D boss-fighting action on the side, too.
Just like the famous blue hedgehog, the trailer hits the ground running, showing off some choice bits of the game while teasing us about the ridiculously-awesome boss fights we'll be hopping, spinning, and dashing our way to victory in. There's also some footage about the game's nautical bits - all of which have you tapping, drawing, or sliding your stylus onto the touchscreen, and we're glad to see that it's not forced or tacked-on. The nautical battle part definitely looks epic to play through. Sonic's back on the DS, and despite the game being bite-sized, this one is a massive adventure just waiting to happen. Enjoy the video! |

My, my... Sega's just rolling them all in, aren't they? The official website for Sonic Rush Adventure has just gone live. And with it comes a whole bunch of details about the upcoming Nintendo DS game. While Sonic Rush may have left some of us dreaming for more, this sequel seems to be more than a worthy installment. The website includes tons of info, screenshots, videos, and little features. We're pretty bummed that the "Mini-Games" section isn't opened yet - that's something worth waiting for. Other things you might want to look our for are the character profiles of Blaze the Cat - yes, she's playable - and the new character to be introduced into the Sonic franchise, Marine the Raccoon. One other interesting section in the site is the "World Records". It isn't opened yet, but surely will be once the game gets released. Online leaderboards, here we come! Click the Read link below to check out the website! |

If you have a need for speed, Sega's Sonic Rush Adventures the DS might just tickle your fancy. This sidescroller is looking really cool with various features that old-school and new-school gamers will enjoy.
It's no secret that this game is in 2D, however, you might not know that the bosses are fought in 3D which is pretty cool. Both screens of the DS are used so no more wondering about what's at the top of this loop that Sonic's going to traverse. If replayability is what you're looking for, this one has 14 stages so it'll probably be some time before you finish it. This game is slated to be released this Autumn, so watch out for it. That said, here are some screenshots of the game that should give you enough of an idea on how the game plays. Enjoy! The people at Sega have a big third and fourth quarter ahead of them this year. With the release dates of 7 titles all falling within weeks of each other, they've got a lot of eager fans to please.
At least 3 PSP titles are set for release in the month of September. Alien Syndrome and Crazy Taxi: Fare Wars have been slated for September 7, while Sega Rally has its debut on the September 28. November 30 is the day being eyed for the release of Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games on the DS, as well as the DS/PSP tie-in game for the movie based on Philip Pullman's His Dark Materials novel series: The Golden Compass. In terms of unknown release dates, we have two. Sonic Rivals 2 for the PSP is expected to hit sometime in autumn, while Sonic Rush Adventure for the DS is due sometime in September. Sega has a daunting task to accomplish later this year. We certainly hope they pull it off. In the meantime, we'll keep you posted as the story unfolds. |

The hero that many Sega fans love will return to the DS for another spin: after Sonic Rush comes Sonic Rush Adventure. We covered Sega's announcement last April, but here's hot new info about the game. The blue hedgehog will still be running in 2D this time around, battling the big bosses in 3D while utilizing the dual screens in both situations. Sega promises the title to be action packed, spread throughout 14 stages set in both land and sea. Yes, Sonic will be doing some sailin'. As the title implies, the game will offer more adventure since players will be able to explore land as Sonic to collect valuable treasure and items. After acquiring the good stuff, Tails can build a fleet for you; up to 5 ships including submarines, water-bikes, and hovercrafts. Jumping from island to island, the touch screen function will offer exciting new ways to control your ship and allow busting tricks ala Tony Hawk - all while fighting pirates and collecting rings at the same time. More features of the title include:

Since SEGA's withdrawal from the console wars and the death of the Dreamcast - a day of infamy mourned by yours truly - it's a comfort to see that the stream of games being churned out by the once dominant regime remains steady and of consistent quality. This, despite the shattered dreams of the orange swirly machine coming back to life once more. James Orry of PRO-G gives us the latest on SEGA.With summer right around the corner, SEGA Europe has revealed its line-up, spearheaded with the PSP platform-slash-puzzle game Crush. Crush is set with the rather original premise of squishing, or 'crushing' the 3D environment around you into a simplified platformer. Next is the casual game SEGA Presents Touch Darts, which is just exactly what it says - a game of darts for the Nintendo DS. Using the touch screen, players can now experience a riveting round of who-can-stick-the-bullseye-first-and-not-hit-anyone without having to stroll into the local bar (and contending with your usual case of musclebound, grizzly sore losers). SEGA Presents Touch Darts is tentatively slated for June 22. Swerving across lanes and breaking speed limits one week after for the PSP is Crazy Taxi: Fare Wars, a compilation of Crazy Taxi and Crazy Taxi 2 with added bells and whistles on the multiplayer department. Blasting right around the corner, also for the Playstation Portable, is Alien Syndrome, a fast-paced action RPG that will also be released at the same time for the Nintendo Wii. Major differences between versions include full motion controls for the Wii, and Wireless Multiplayer for the PSP. Last but definitely not least is the much-awaited Sonic Rush Adventure, the sequel to the well-received Sonic Rush for the DS. Planned for an autumn release, Sonic Rush Adventure pits Sonic against pirates in battles involving the big blue drink and sailboats. Definitely something to watch out for. In the next-gen department, SEGA confirms that it has a list of titles on the way, such as The Club and SEGA Rally. |

Sega announces Sonic Rush Adventure - but hey, people were guessing that wold be the title anyway. Bet they weren't expecting the announcement so soon, though. Sonic Rush Adventure will feature the same 2D action featured in Sonic Rush, but the "Adventure" part here might not have anything to do with the Sonic Adventure series. New is a touchscreen-enabled "high seas adventure" gameplay section where you sail across waters, search for buried treasure, and fight villainous pirates led by Eggman Metal Sonic Captain Whisker. Sonic and Tails get to crew five sailable ships, including a water bike, a hovercraft, and a submarine. A submarine? FUTURE HEADLINE: Missile sub Red Chaos Emerald defects to USA; Soviet fleet in pursuit. Sonic Rush Adventure will also support Wi-Fi and Download Play for racing and mission-based battles. The game's developed by SEGA Studios and should sail to stores in Autumn 2007. |
