Ubisoft logo - Image 1Ubisoft's on a definite roll this time around, with the company enjoying good sales numbers in the first quarter thanks to a boost afforded by the release of games such as Assassin's Creed (Xbox 360, PS3, PC), Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Vegas 2 (Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, PC), and others. There's just one little snag, however, with the confirmation of Splinter Cell: Conviction's delay. More details in the full article.

From what we know of Rabbids, they can't play soccer, vacuum, play with fireworks, cook eggs, and infiltrate games conventions. That doesn't stop them from trying though. We've got a new video of Rayman Raving Rabbids 2 from the Leipzig Games Convention 2007 (GC).

We all know that they aren't very smart, but we'll have to give them points for persistence. This time, Ubisoft's crazy bunnies are trying to infiltrate yet another games convention. If you remember, their attempts the last time ended with a plunger and a menacing guard. At the GC 2007, the Rabbids are using more complicated means for infiltration, i.e. disguise. They miss the point completely though and get booted out quite literally. We hope that Rayman Raving Rabbids 2 weren't booted out because of the bunnies' antics.

Anyway, check out the video and you'll probably hit your forehead with your palm a couple of times. We'll bring you more news on how the Rabbids will fare in this games convention and more news on their upcoming title, Rayman Raving Rabbids 2 (DS and Wii).

E3: Rayman Raving Rabbids 2 to be 'even nuttier' - Image 1

During the press conference of the Japanese gaming giant at the E3 Media & Business Summit, Nintendo America's CEO Reggie Fils-Aime slipped a few words on Ubisoft's Rayman Raving Rabbids 2 (for the Wii and DS), stating that the sequel would be "even nuttier" than the previous installment.

The first trailer on the game was indicative of that, but to hear it from the big boss is one other thing. Now while nothing else was enlightened on the game, we've got to understand Nintendo on this one: they owe a lot to their investors in their capitalization growth. So filling their conference with tons of first-party and third-party title mentions is consistent with the new face of E3 - media and retail comes first.

So to keep our rabbid selves satisfied for now, we've also grabbed a couple of stills from the game to clue us all in on what's coming to the Wii. More developments on the Wii's upcoming titles as they get hit by trailer trucks...err, yeah.

Raving Rabbid Cake - Image 1

This isn't exactly what you came to QJ for to read, but we did think that Kotaku user Daniel P.'s wife did a heck of a job with this nice Raving Rabbids (Ubisoft) birthday cake for her son. If our QJ moms baked us cakes inspired by our favorite games, we would be torn apart trying to decide whether to eat it or to just look at it.

We're no experts on the fine art of cookery, and there weren't a lot of details thrown in to let us know how it was made and what ingredients went in. The one thing we know is that it's from Germany, and look! The rabbid is holding a 1Up Mario mushroom for the kid's age!

We hope to see more game cakes soon. How about a Final Fantasy, Halo or Silent Hill Cake? Those things would be the star of every party provided that Phoenix Down, alien hide and visceral parts aren't in the recipe.

Rayman Raving Rabbids 2 art - Image 1

Ubisoft has officially announced that Rayman Raving Rabbids 2 will be brought exclusively to Nintendo's platforms. Yep, there is a sequel, indeed. And you can only catch them crazy rabbids on the Wii and the DS. Well that definitely shuts out any hope for the rabbids going to other platforms.

Director of marketing for Ubisoft, John Parkes, said, "The first Rayman Raving Rabbids was a huge critical and commercial success worldwide." Given that it won the hearts of many, it is thus not surprising at all that they will follow it up with a new title that will surely push the craziness envelope even farther. "Rayman Raving Rabbids 2 is poised to continue that success, as gamers can't seem to get enough of those crazy bunnies; they're just popular!"

And popular they really are. And what do you know? The party is set to start rather soon, with the sequel scheduled to come out this Fall. Just keep it posted here for more news and rabbid-craziness. In the meantime, why don't you check out these screens and art.
