He wasn't exaggerating when he singled out the game: not a day has gone by since its release and the game already has downloadable content available from the Wi-Fi service. A lot gamers who have a knack for solving mysteries were bummed to find out that Professor Layton and the Mysterious Village will never reach U.S. shores. And while the game has been out in Japan for more than a month now, we still decided to share with you a hilarious vid which shows how the animal voice acting in the game was done. For those not in the know, Professor Layton and the Mysterious Village is a puzzle/adventure RPG from Level-5 (same folks responsible for Dark Cloud and White Knight Story for PS3) and is hailed by some as a fusion of your traditional videogames and Brain Training. Usually, we'd just bring you guys the video embed but for some reason it's messing up. So to be safe, what we'll do is just give you the link to the vid so you can view it on Game Videos. Just hit the read link below and you're good to go. |

Professor Layton and the Mysterious Village is a new puzzle/adventure game that is due to be released for the DS. We heard the gameplay's puzzles were made by Japanese puzzle-master Professor Akira Tago - author of the "Head Gymnastics" book series. According to Level 5 president">Akihiro Hino, president of developer Level 5, the idea for Professor Layton and the Mysterious Village was based on his love for Tago's puzzle books. So prepare to spend hours, not minutes, trying to unlock the secrets wrapped inside the pretty art design.
In fact, Professor Layton and the Mysterious Village is somewhat a cross between a more traditional video game (that is guaranteed to appeal to kids) and Nintendo's Brain Training series (which was a big hit among older gamers). Perhaps you can start unraveling some of the game's puzzles by watching the trailer and visiting its official website (link below). We're pretty sure you'll find some clues on the mystery that ails the village. If you speak Japanese, that is. Professor Layton is due in February 2007, although there are currently no plans for distribution outside Japan. |
