Trigger-happy European DS owners can now go on a sharp shooting spree with the release of Point Blank DS from Namco Bandai Games and Atari. The classic arcade shoot-em-up's rapid-fire gameplay becomes even more addictive with the stylus as your main weapon to hit that elusive bulls-eye. With 40 different stages and gameplay modes, we're pretty sure that your DS screen will get no rest from all that stylus action. The four difficulty settings ensure that all types of gamers will be able to enjoy the game. If you're feeling a bit competitive, you can challenge another player via the wireless multiplayer mode. Calling all quickdraws out there, let it be known that Point Blank, a.k.a. Gun Bullet Trainer,
will soon be making its way into European store shelves. Developed by
Atari and based on the 1994 arcade game by Namco, this title makes
undergoes a make-over for the Nintendo DS without straying too far from
its light gun roots.
The game has already been released in Japan and North America during the middle of this year, and as promised, Europe gets a taste in the fourth quarter of 2006. As for the gameplay, the light gun is essentially replaced by the stylus and touchscreen. A vast selection of mini-games are also there for the player to choose from, with 40 stages available, each with its own unique objectives and varying levels of difficulty. Missions can also range from protecting celebrities to getting rid of the wolves who want a bite from your lamb flock. In addition, there's also an option to duke it out with another player via the DS wireless connection. The website of Gun Bullet Trainer, better known as Point Blank, for Nintendo DS is now online. The site features a hefty array of mini-games and stages available in the Gun Bullet Trainer game that would train you on how to get those targets where you want them. This series is part of the Right Brain Trainer (Unou no Tatsujin) series of Namco, a series of games designed to train the right side of your brain. The game has 40 different stages of which all stages have different objectives and difficulties. You can go as far as propecting an old man during his opera performance or trying to hit some wolves on the prowl for some of your lamb's meat. A lot of mini-games designed to improve your hand-eye coordination are in this game. The test mode will see whether you have definitely improved with regards to particular aspects of the game, such as accuracy and patience. Fulfilling bonus stages will definitely bring your character to new heights and will definitly make you one of those with the quick hand. This new game will be released in Japan on May 18, 2006, no word regarding wordwide shipping has come out yet. |

WarioWare will have some new competition once Point Blannk is released for the DS in June. Based on the game of the game with the same name on other platforms, Point Blank on the DS features a variety of mini games that will rely heavily on the touch screen. At least 40 mini games will be includes in the final version, and even though these are Japanese screens you can still get a good idea of what the final product will be like.

Namco is releasing a blast from the past, in the form of its incredibly once popular and classic arcade game, Point Blank onto the Nintendo DS.Fans of the popular shooting series will be using the DS stylus to shoot down everything from clay pigeons to aliens (as opposed to the traditional arcade gun). Players will try to tap their way to victory as they take on four different difficulty levels in over 40 stages - all taken from the three Point Blank arcade titles. Point Blank DS is due out mid June 2006. |
