EA Games' Need For Speed franchise may have taken a turn stylistically
with Need For Speed: ProStreet, (Sony PlayStation 3, Microsoft Xbox 360, Nintendo Wii, PC, Sony PSP, mobile and and Nintendo DS) but the company believes that its impact
on the gaming business will be similar to that of its predecessors. EA
Says that NFS: ProStreet should hold the top spot for the holiday
season, like most of its predecessors. |

With Electronics Arts winding up for the release of its latest arcade style racing game with Need for Speed: ProStreet, the promoters from the gaming company delivers to us an exclusive TV spot advertisement for the game.
The commercial encompasses all the hyped up game features that the developers from EA Black Box has been talking about for the past few months. New features such as the advanced damage modeling, customizable body parts autosculpting are just some of the features that add to this intense racing game's strong following. While the game doesn't exactly feature those two drivers you'll see in the video, the game might as well have been sliced from real life, seeing as how the visuals really bring life to the game. Need for Speed: ProStreet is due to be released this November 14 in North America on the PC, Xbox 360, PS2, PS3, PSP, Wii and DS. Anyway, enjoy the video we have on this great game and remember, leave the driving to the professionals. Well known as a high-speed arcade racer, the Need for Speed series is taking a different approach for its next generation series. Electronic Arts' Need for Speed ProStreet (PC, Xbox 360, PS2, PS3, PSP, Wii, DS) takes out most of the arcade street racing elements from its former iterations and features a more realistic take on the racing aspect of the game. Aside from that, you can also expect the soundtrack to be just as adrenalin pumping and as fast paced as the game has always been. EA recently revealed the entire soundtrack for the game which features 35 songs from a varied range of artists. It also premieres an original score made by renowned DJ and producer Junkie XL which captures the speed and style of the pro street racing culture. EA Worldwide Executive of Music and Music Marketing Steve Schnur relates how the soundtrack fits into the game's new look: We've brought together an unprecedented collection of artists that represents an international convergence of emerging Rock, aggressive Electro, UK Grime and much more, including a truly dangerous original score by our Artwerk artist Junkie XL. Here's the entire list of artists and their respective songs that will be featured in the game:

EA is revving up the engine on its upcoming Need For Speed ProStreet's career mode which promises to give you a taste of what may be the trend bubbling up on the street racing scene worldwide. The devs took the liberty to explain all the elements in a nutshell, so listen in:
As mentioned in the trailer, you'd have to be good in all four street racing styles to qualify for the world-class arena of the unorthodox motorsport. Master drag, drift, grip and speed challenge styles and be rewarded with unlockable organizations and locations across Europe and Asia. Need For Speed ProStreet deviates a bit from the raucous, open-track style that made the franchise popular. Racing circuits are now more closed and physics have gotten more realistic than ever. Will the infusion of simulation elements give the series a boost? We'll see, but judging from what we're seeing, it very well could. This hotrod is slated for almost every platform available: the PC, Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, PS2, Wii, PSP, and DS. |

With Electronic Art's Need for Speed ProStreet (PC, Xbox 360, PS3, PSP, Wii, DS, PS2) taking a more hardcore path in the racing genre, the developers are reiterating that this game will be much, much faster than its predecessors. Now, in case you've already gotten wind of the previous "Smoke Trailer" video we've got here, we'll be introducing another video showcasing what the game is aimed to be all about: speed.
This video will be less on the subtle physics effects demonstrated in past posts and will focus instead on a straight-out run, at speeds (as the devs put it) that will indeed leave you breathless, your visions blurred, and your stomachs knotted. Enjoy the video, and fasten your seat-belts - this could get bumpy. |

When Electronic Arts said they've upped the ante on Need for Speed ProStreet (PC, Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, Wii, DS, PSP, PS2), they definitely weren't kidding. While they've spun developer interview after developer interview explaining why Need for Speed was being redefined for a more hardcore audience, those interested in what EA Black Box was offering waited quietly for an up-close and personal look, taste and feel.
But wait no longer, because from Dutch (Netherlands) Game1, we've watched an in-game gameplay demonstration of Need for Speed ProStreet on what appears to be an updated version of the circuit race (or URL) and found our eyes momentarily glued to the screens in awe. That much detail (including damage and asphalt grain) with an almost unflinching framerate was dumbfounding - at the least. Without further ado, though, we'll let you check out the three-minute long gameplay video. Downtown Tokyo, here we come a-driftin'! |
