Metroid Prime Pinball finally hitting Europe - Image 1It's about time video game title Metroid Prime Pinball hits the European continent. The game has been available in North America for around two years already and it is only now that developer Fuse Games and Nintendo decided to ship the game overseas.

Basically, the title is a pinball game set in the sci-fi Metroid universe. So expect every table here to be Metroid Prime-themed; and players will be controlling Samus Aran in her morphed ball form. The game will have numerous flippers and will allow players to tilt tables and bend the rules a bit.

The game itself comes with a free Rumble Pak that will vibrate with every bump and explosion. Needless to say, Metroid Prime Pinball offers a single player mode, but more importantly, it also allows up to seven others playing simultaneously using Nintendo DS's wireless capability in Wireless Mission mode.

The Multi Mission mode, on the other hand, invites players to unlock our bonus tables based on worlds from the franchise. Metroid Prime Pinball will be available in Europe on June 22 for 40 Euros or roughly around US$ 54.

If only Sigourney Weaver had a Varia Suit as well...

Based on the Metroid Prime series, First 4 Figures has come up with concept art for its future Samus figurines. They've now released the prototypes of their Samus Aran figurines in two variations: the Varia Suit (above) and the Gravity Suit (below).

Both are made with high-quality poly-stone, carefully hand painted with metallic paint, and will be available during the fourth quarter of this year. Hey, better be quick because the Gravity Suit is just limited to a production run of 250 pieces. Each figurine costs $99.99 and has a 11 in base, plus it comes with a card of authenticity. Cool, huh?

These are just the first two in First 4 Figures' suit series, which would eventually include the Light Suit, Dark Suit, and Phazon Suit. So, in case they come out with other new suits (or even figures of other characters), watch this space for updates!

The Gravity Suit floats above the rest...

A couple of months back, First 4 Figures announced that they were making figurines based on The Legend of Zelda series. Today, they revealed that they're working on Metroid figurines. Statues for Metroid Prime, Metroid Prime 2: Echoes, and Metroid Prime Hunters have been announced, but no word on whether or not they'll be using characters from the other Metroid titles. They will be creating both single 9 - 12 inch figures and large VS dioramas. The single figurines will cost bet wen $85 and $120 (USD) while the dioramas will cost upwards of $200 (USD). The currently revealed figurine are:

Metroid Prime
  • Varia Suit Samus
Metroid Prime 2: Echoes
  • Dark Suit Samus
  • Light Suit Samus
Metroid Prime Hunters
  • Samus
  • Kanden
  • Trace
  • Spire
  • Noxus
  • Sylux
  • Weavel
More will likely be revealed in the future. The statues will be available for preview at E3 next week. For now, we have been provided a render of the Samus statue. It looks like it's either the Varia Suit model from Metroid Prime or the Samus model from Metroid Prime Hunters.

It's ten to the hour and MTV is giving you the latest on... the Metroid game series? Yup, you read that right! MTV.com has posted a complete overview of the Metroid legacy giving details and images on all the Metroid games. The special also features gameplay videos of all nine games - all a must-see, and not even just for hardcore fans of the series.

This Metroid special is a part of MTV.com's video game section. This really makes up for the lame "Spring Break in New York City" crap they pulled this year...

Unleash Metroid pinball action across dual screens. Play Samus in Morph Ball form on different Metroid-themed tables in a classic pinball adventure.

Multi-Mission Mode: Play through six different pinball table regions, each with its own Metroid theme and game-play style. Collect hidden artifacts, find weapon upgrades, battle bosses and play dozens of pinball mini-games in the quest to unlock new regions and battle Metroid Prime.

Mpinball1

Wireless Mission: Metroid Prime Pinball features the world's first simultaneous eight-player game play using DS Download Play with a single game card. Players hit targets to release Metroid enemies on opponents' tables as they try to beat one another to the top score.

Single Mission: This mode features two single-player modes. In Score Attack, players play a traditional pinball game on the board of their choice. They try to collect extra balls, because if they run out, it's game over. In Time Attack, players try to defeat a boss in the fastest time possible.

The Nintendo DS Rumble Pak, the first DS accessory to make use of the secondary expansion slot, gives players an added level of immersion by rumbling and vibrating in response to the action on the screens. The Rumble Pak is the same size as a Game Boy® Advance game pak and activates when the pinball hits a bumper or when enemies attack.

Game Storyline: Samus Aran's entry into the bumper-and-flipper world is a sci-fi adventure that has her battling gigantic boss creatures and careening through all the classic Metroid® Prime regions, including Phendrana Drifts and Magmoor Caverns.

Characters: Samus, Space Pirates, Metroids, Triclops, Thardus, Omega Pirate, Meta Ridley and Metroid Prime.

How to progress through the game: Play Multi-Mission play on one of six pinball tables to unlock new pinball regions, or level-up the current region to increase the challenge and up the point values. Players collect hidden artifacts, play through dozens of pinball mini-games, battle a variety of enemies and defeat bosses. Even if they can defeat the ultimate boss, the game is not over. Players can backtrack through the game to take on even harder enemies so they can really rack up the points. Play individual Score Attack or Time Attack modes for high scores.

Special powers/weapons/moves/features: Drop into a third-person Samus form to battle attacking bugs, bosses, Space Pirates and a host of other enemies. Use a combination of flipper action and Morph Ball Bombs to play through the game. Tapping the touch screen nudges the surface of the table to keep the pinball in play. Through game-play achievements, Samus collects a variety of weapons like Power Bombs and Missiles. This slick, action-packed pinball game features more than a dozen pinball-style game modes. Players flip and bomb their way through the Triclops Terror, and even unleash the mighty Phazon Multiball.
