And the pet-mania continues! First it was Nintendogs, and then came Love Love Hamster and now we have A Lovely Puppy, aka Kawaii Koinu, for the Nintendo DS! The cuteness is just absolutely overwhelming. Bound to be released in Japan this October, a player can select which puppy he or she wants to keep from 18 dog types, and there are also 50 coat types to choose from. As with any pet-type of game, you have to feed your puppy, play with it, take it for walks, pet it, take it to the vet, buy it a leash, and teach it tricks. You can even give it voice commands by talking into the mic. The way that your puppy will act will depend on how you raise it, so if you don't want your puppy to be too spoiled, you'll have to teach it some discipline (but how can you not break down and give in to those beady eyes and that wagging tail?). Besides raising your pet, however, there are also lots of mini-games included. For example, your character's mom sends you on an errand, or you can join a contest and win a prize or money that you can either trade in for something nice for your puppy, or you can give it to someone in order to achieve one of your current goals. The 2D sprites are also so very cute and irresistible, so by October 5th, you can expect that puppy love will indeed be in the air. More Puppy Cuteness after the Jump! |

Have you ever wanted a cute puppy? Well, the newest puppy game, "Kawaii Koinu DS", or in english Cute Puppy DS gives you a chance to own one, virtually of course. Like the Ocha Ken game, Cute Puppy lets you play with our puppy, however, the game is not as versatile as Ocha Ken. Instead, it's an upgraded form of a Tamagotchi, wherein you are basically given a dog and you are tasked to feed it, train it, and play with it. The only thing it has similar to Ocha Ken is its design system which allows you to design the room where you can play with your dog, you can even give them toys and their own bed! You can also make your dogs fall in love. If you walk your dog in the park, you can make it befriend other dogs, however, the preview of the game does not entail whether the game includes breeding dogs in the future. Other than just playing with the dog you can also do other things, for example you can run some of your mom's errands with your dog, this gives you an opportunity to socialize with fellow dog owners in your town as well as teach your dog a trick or two. This cute title is an entirely different game compared to the old Tamagotchi, for one, the game really centers on your relationship with your dog rather than the dog being the sole star that needs your attention. More so, the game does not forget that there is more to the world than just playing with your dog, because of this, more than playing this is a game that teaches kids the value of owning a pet. |
