Law students know for a fact that the burden of proof always falls on the lap of the prosecuting attorney. Instead of defending clients this time around, it'll be a fun change of pace to play as the prosecutor in Capcom's Gyakuten Kenji (Miles Edgeworth: Perfect Prosecutor). It seems a new leading lady will be joining the cast, too. Check the Nintendo Dream scans after the jump to see what she looks like. |

If you're looking for a good horror title for your Nintendo DS portable, you may want to check out Dimple's Mitewa Ikenai. While it appears to be an import title, we think it has potential. Check the screenshots after the jump to find out why. |

Unfortunately, they're both in Japanese, but at least you don't have to be fluent in the language to get an idea of what Tales of Vesperia will be like once it's finally released. The Nintendo DS Hot Summer Peach Edition no.001 is apparently so hot it's fetching more sales than Sony's Playstation 3. It's going for a whopping US$ 690.00 on eBay right now with the auction lasting two more days and nine hours as of this article's writing. This unit is the first print from the limited console run of the Nintendo DS Peach Pink. It was given as part of the Club Nintendo Hot Summer Contest and only 200 of the said units were produced. The product has been called by the seller as "One of the most rarest consoles of Nintendo DS System." If you're interested in this, click on the read link below to head to its ebay page and place your bids there. Be sure to keep checking back here for more news on the Nintendo DS. |

One of them's a strategy RPG where you fight to survive. The other one's an adventure game where you fight, cook, forage, and sleep to survive. All in all, March seems to have a lot of surviving in mind as two new DS games make their way onto store shelves in March. |

Man, those French people get around. They've managed to take a lot of nice videos for different games at TGS 2006, and while each one tends to be short, they certainly are nice teasers for the real thing. One of these trailers is for Square Enix's Dragon Quest Monsters - Joker, one of their spin-off games of the series for the DS. While you may not like the comparison, Dragon Ball + Pokemon do happen to come to mind, but with the flair that made Dragon Quest: Journey of the Cursed King such a popular game for the PS2. Of course, collecting and powering up monsters is actually fun once you can decimate your enemies with them, so the potential for sadistic experience gained through wholesale slaughter is always a crowd-pleaser. This short clip from TGS doesn't show a whole lot of the gameplay itself, but from the giant screens, it certainly looks less like a DS game and more like a PS2 game (as absurd as that sounds). Of course, that may just all be an optical illusion forced upon us by Akira Toriyama. In any case, watch the video, have fun with the pretty pictures, and start that petition for an American and European release for the game. Enjoy! SNK Playmore is really hoping to be busy this coming 2007. Not only will they be releasing their numerous arcade fighters and an XBLA version of Fatal Fury 2 Special, they've also got a a bunch of games lined up for the Nintendo DS. If you remember a few days back, we actually mentioned some of them, though we couldn't really translate them very well. They were titles with names like Throbbing Witch Judgement. No wonder translation sites are always in a state of beta-testing. Throbbing Witch Judgement should actually be known as Doki Doki Majo Saiban, where your task is to find a sorceress who is hiding on earth disguised as a human. IGN also mentions that "you use the stylus to touch girls to determine who's a sorceress" in Sorceress Judgment mode. We're not sure what this mechanic will actually do, but you can be sure it's going to appeal to one sort of gamer or another. Another game coming up for the DS is Denshi Maid Techou: Koi no Iroha, which we previously called Your Hero, Iroha of Electronic Made Log Love. In it, you are supposed to raise and train Iroha, from Samurai Spirits, into becoming a good maid. The game also doubles as a planner of sorts, so despite the strange premise, it may actually have some practical use. |

Gunpey is Q Entertainment's puzzle game with a musical and visual twist. In the game, you have to make a horizontal line using various shapes and bars that ascend across five columns. The speed of the game (and the challenge) goes up as time goes by. But it's not your usual puzzle game: it's a sensory overload of lights, sounds, images, and music. No amount of talking about it or putting up screenshots will do it justice. You just have to watch the videos (I recommend the first and third video). The first video shows a fast-paced level with pop music. The second video sounded a lot like a 1980's space-invader arcade game (which annoy some but impress others). And the third video has an African feel to it. Check them out, but turn down your player's volume first. And for those who are interested, there's a PSP version, too. You can compare them here. In an interview with C3 News the development team of Capcom's Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney - Justice for All mentioned several things worth noting. First is that although they're very much interested in the Wii hardware, they currently have no plan for the series to appear on any other consoles apart from DS. Second is that Phoenix Wright: Justice for All will contain brand new episodes and it will be about the same volume as Ace Attorney. They said that they very much wanted the Western players to play a new game rather than just slog through another port of a game already released in Japan. When it comes to the DS's Wi-Fi connection service, they did mention that they are interested in it, but they have no plans of adopting the service for the series. They said they'll let the gameplay of the series evolve first and focus on that before adopting online capabilities. What really gets to me is that they mentioned that they'll be very honoured if they will be allowed to feature any of Nintendo's other famous characters in their Phoenix Wright games. This in particular just reminds me too much of Harvey Birdman Attorney at law. Much possible craziness. |
