Homebrew coder DesertDog has ported The Legend of Zelda - Molblin's Magic Spear to the Nintendo DS. The golden book, based on the The Legend of Zelda, was written by Jack C. Harris in 1989.

Homebrew coder darkchen3389 has released a GBA emulator for the Nintendo DS and Nintendo DSi running on the iPlayer flashcart. iPlayer is a media player card for the Nintendo DS, which is designed with a high-performance decoder chip inside, allowing hardware decoding, will be able to play the main format of videos directly without converting. Homebrew coder Quipeace has release Handwriting Calculator for the Nintendo DS. The homebrew application, based on Nokia's Handwriting Calculator features basic math operations, multi-digit support, handwriting recognition and more.

DS Game Maker developer, James Garner, has emailed us to inform of the release of the latest version for his homebrew app, DS Game Maker v3.1. He calls it a "significant update", primarily because of the big changes he's installed in this installment. Check out the comprehensive changelog in the full article.

Homebrew coder BassAceGold has released a new update for UA Paint, a highly popular homebrew painting application for the Nintendo DS. Some of the features of the simple pixel art tool includes saving and loading of 24 bit bitmap images, zooming, multiple draw sizes, 10 pallets, typewriter mode, MP3 playback and more. The latest release is the dev's entry in NEO Summer Coding Compo 2009.

Homebrew coder James Garner tipped us off about the latest release of his excellent homebrew tool for all aspiring Nintendo DS game developers, the DS Game Maker. The latest  update is a feature pack release that includes a global copy and paste of sprites, pack and go tool,  Guitar Hero controller support and some more bug fixes.

Here a nice little app for all Nintendo DS/Lite owners. Homebrew coder Spinal released DSi4DS, a homebrew application that imitates the Nintendo DSi menu. The app features a stylus and button controls support, shows battery status, charging status and more.
