English Training: Have Fun Improving Your Skills

Thank god the title for the game that's supposed to help adults who don't know enough English to not get pwned by fast food clerks shortened. It used to be: Eigo ga Nigate na Otona no Dīesu Torēningu: Eigo Duke, or DS Training For Adults Who Aren't Good at English: English Language Trainer. As QJ Blogger Dia has explained before the "Motto" part in the title means "more", so yeah, that's "more English language training." ...or something like that.
Anyhow, given the burger that the lady in the video below ended up with, you can see why. Yep, that was the Japanese Commercial for Motto Eigo Duke for the DS. Yes! |

English Training: Have Fun Improving Your Skills for the DS will change the way to learn language. The DS game will be available in Europe this October 13. The fun educational game is designed to improve gamers' writing skills via the DS touch-screen. The gameplay involves dictation exercises where spoken phrases must be written down using the stylus. At the end of each exercise, the game checks the written text for spelling and grammar. English Training (£16.99/$32.00) also helps hone speaking skills using a voice recognition feature to assess spoken phrases. Other tests, if you could call them that, includes English Training Competition, English Word Test Competition and Dictation Race Competition. To measure one's performance, the game has a calendar system for tracking skills development. |
