Koei has released a collection of teaser clips for Dynasty Warriors DS: Fighter's Battle, their upcoming touch screen-utilizing title for the Nintendo DS handheld system. It's really short, clocking in at only 34 seconds, but it does give us a bit of a look at how battles go in this title. Check out the vid below.
Dynasty Warriors DS: Fighter's Battle will let players take on the role of one of three new characters and team up with the legendary Dynasty Warriors to save Ancient China. Cards also come into play in this title. Using a "Battle Deck" of cards, players can select up to seven of the original Dynasty Warriors to serve as officers who will defend their bases. Dynasty Warriors DS: Fighter's Battle is currently slated for a July release in North America. |

We were all excited when Koei announced that it will bring the popular Dynasty Warriors franchise to the extremely popular Nintendo DS. The installment of the series will be called Dynasty Warriors DS: Fighter's Battle and will have a lot of the elements that made its predecessors so successful. Koei recently unleashed a nice bunch of screens and we were pretty satisfied with what we saw.
The game lets players choose from three characters whose names were drawn from mythological beasts. Phoenix is the balanced type in terms of stats and skill types, Dragon will run circles around foes with his uncanny speed and Chimera will pound the living daylights off the baddies with brute strength. Not a lot has been revealed about the storyline, but what we do know is that players will be tasked to unify a nation that has fallen into chaos using tactics, magic and force. One pretty exciting detail is that players will have the ability to summon past Dynasty Warriors characters and have them fight for their cause. We're eagerly anticipating more updates on this hot prospect. More Dynasty Warriors DS: Fighter's Battle screens at the Full Article! |

Koei, purveyors of top-notch strategy and action games, has announced that Dynasty Warriors DS: Fighter's Battle, the popular tactical action series' debut title for the Nintendo DS handheld gaming system, will be hitting North America this July. In the game, players must reunite a divided nation. That's a pretty tall order, but thankfully they won't have to face this challenge alone. In Dynasty Warriors DS: Fighter's Battle, players will take the role of one of three new characters, each with its own special attribute: the Phoenix (balance), the Dragon (speed), and the Chimera (power). Using a "Battle Deck" of cards, players will select up to seven of the original Dynasty Warriors to serve as officers who will defend their bases. A new "Obstacle Roulette System" lets players unleash tactics or spells using cards from the players' Battle Deck. The game also features a wireless Versus mode for up to three players. The Obstacle attacks could prove crucial to victory in this mode as they can disrupt an opponent's progress. For a look at the game, check out these screenshots and concept art. |

The video game Dynasty Warriors DS: Fighter's Battle
by Koei is looking great. We'll be presenting you with some concept art
for the characters, the video game's pack shot, and 14 screenshots
showing the gameplay itself. The game was covered in a previous article where we posted some screenshots as well as info on the game. Some gamers love the redesign of the game and the gameplay, while others have complained about the grainy graphics and find the card system a bit too gimmicky. Much has been said about the game but it hasn't even been released yet. We'll just have to wait for the release, before we can say if the new system works. Fans of the game should at least give the game a look before dismissing it as "just another Dynasty Warriors". Dynasty Warriors DS: Fighter's Battle is expected to be launched within the year for North America, Japan, and Europe. Anyway, here are the pictures we promised. Enjoy! Factions concept art: More screenshots at the full article. |

In the game, the player can choose to represent one of three factions: Suzaku, Seiryuu, or Genbu. The gameplay system uses Warrior Cards which are used to call forth allies to help out the players. The decks of each player can be customized to their playing style. Since there are more than 100 cards in the game, an additional layer of tactical depth can be expected from this game. Dynasty Warriors DS is expected to be released within the year for North American, Japanese, and European gamers. Check out the screenshots and see if this is your cup of tea. |

Koei has presented their line of titles at display at the E3. The Dynasty Warriors series is present in abundance, with Dynasty Warriors DS, Dynasty Warriors Vol. 2 (PSP) as well as a web-based game under the working title of Dynasty Warriors BB. The sequel to Samurai Warriors will both hit the Xbox 360 and PS2 and round out Koei's usual share of period games.
Aspiring sailors and pirates can extend their list of promising online titles (Pirates of the Caribbean Online, Pirates of the Burning Sea) with Uncharted Waters Online, a multiplayer spin-off of the long-running series that made its debut on the Super Nintendo. PS2 cult hit Gitaroo Man makes the jump to Sony's portable with Gitaroo Man Live!, while the first futuristic racer for the Playstation 3, Fatal Inertia, will mark the debut of Koei's new Canada-based studio. Finally, we have Bladestorm: The Hundred Year War, possibly the most interesting of them all. Developed by the respected Omega Force team - responsible for creating Dynasty Warriors - Bladestorm is going to be an entirely new franchise; an action game to expect as much dedication as Koei's aforementioned Samurai series.
