Tembargo has released his first homebrew game titled Temby Towers DS which is a clone of the game Yahoo! Towers on the search engines gaming site.  The object of the game is to horizontally, vertically, [or diagonally] align a minimum of 3 squares of the same color (and letter). By moving back and forth you move your block down until it rests, remotely similar to tetris. Press A to change the order of the letters and R to use an item. Start, naturally, starts and stops the gameplay.

Changelog (google transliteration):
- New name Temby! Towers and design perso.
- Posting score and level. And to increase speed according to time and the points of the score.
- the horizontal déplacemnt if one lets support right or left.
- Block of défence “T” functional (the first line of play erases), one uses the option with the button “R”.
- test of a music of DJ Costello.

First off, I'm not one to play the fanboy role when it comes to choosing video game consoles. They all have their own unique features and games, some better and some worse but in the end they are all just fun to play. Video games from classic systems such as the Nintendo Entertainment System and Sega Genesis are obviously still alive and kicking.

However theres a group of people who are not so happy with a classic console producer. So unhappy in fact that they choose to ban this savior of so many boring days from their popular MMORPG, Guild Wars. The victim in this case, so to speak, is "Sega".

When gamers choose to use language that would get the typical teenagers mouth washed out with soap, the game filters out the word so other gamers aren't offended. There are, no doubt a number of hypocrisies, such as the word "damn" for example.

A check was run to see if any of the other console makers were masked in this conspiracy and "Nintendo", "Sony", and "Microsoft" came up with a clean slate and were not blocked. So sad it seems, that NCsoft would shun a company invovled in such epic titles as Sonic the Hedgehog, Guardian Heroes, Panzer Dragoon Saga and Chu Chu Rocket.

SgStair has created a wiki that will be used "to create and maintain documentation on a number of subjects that I have worked on in the past and will work on in the future. This wiki is a little different than normal, only a select few will be allowed to edit main pages but anyone is free to modify the discussion pages and provide feedback :)"

Currently the wiki is fresh off the flying pan so there isn't too much there yet, however a partial DS Wifi Doc and a number of Downloadable Demos currently share space on the wiki. Everything should expand very nicely as he adds his current documentation to the wiki. SgStair's DS Wifi Lib is not posted yet, however he said it would be coming very soon after he finishes a few remaining touches.

Tetris, a game upon which the entire "falling objects" genre was created has touched us all. Maybe I'm giving Tetris too much credit? The game only runs on about every platform ever created. From cellphones and calculators to PDA's and video gaming consoles, almost every electronic device capable of playing a game has seen a tetrad fall down the screen. So when Tetris creator Alexy Pazhitnov (sometimes transliterated to Pajitnov) launches a new puzzle game with the help of casual game service Wild Snake, it was bound to cause a stir.

"It is a great honor to work alongside someone as well respected as Alexey, " said Andy Nick, owner of Wildsnake Software, "We look forward to producing more titles along the same lines and quality levels as Alexey's Dwice in the near future."

In the new game Dwice, players match together falling blocks of ice that are the same shape. Stop the avalanches from reaching the little houses at the foot of the mountains by destroying the ice blocks. Just click two blocks of the same shape! Sounds easy? With the Quest Mode and the Arcade Mode the game offers endless amount of different challenges. Journey through 60 levels in Quest Mode to unfreeze our blue planet and save the world. For each avalanche stopped the world becomes a warmer place to live in, and the inhabitants of the little houses at the foot of the mountain become ever so grateful! Or take on an endless challenge in the Arcade Mode, where avalanches keep coming and you have to stop them all, the longer you stay alive, the more difficult it gets, and the more points you get! So if you have a few moments be sure to grab the demo and give it a spin.

Games have reached new heights in the recent years when it comes to graphics. From our lovable pixelated brothers Mario and Luigi back in the 80's to the games that are currently coming out now the graphics never stop getting better. So whats the next step you may ask? It seems that IO2Technology is working on that one as we speak.

Thus far they have managed to display 30" diagonal holographic images in 4:3 and 16:9 aspect ratios. The latest version (2nd generation) of the Heliodisplay M2 is also interactive, allowing the users to control the image with their hands. In the video, Ritual Entertainment shows a video of SiN Episode characters displayed on the Heliodisplay M2. Holodeck displays coming from a R2D2 projector lookalike. Apparently the unit is available for rent or to buy.

Ó

We have been waiting for more news on the New Super Mario Brothers game by Nintendo to come,  but instead to keep you waiting in further suspense here are a few New Super Mario Brothers Videos. In this new game (although not shown in the video) players will play side by side. The game's producer, Tezuka Takushi, explained in the article that simultaneous play wasn't really possible in past side-scrolling Mario games because both players had to be restricted to the same screen, a problem the DS gets around nicely with its two screens and wireless capabilities. The intent will be that the multiplayer mode will be highly competitive.

While the game limits versus mode to only two players, it was said that the mini-games will allow up to four players to join and play. As you can see in the video the new Mario Brothers game will be done using 3D graphics however the gameplay will be in classic sidescroller fashion. When it comes down to the music, the new Super Mario Brothers
will feature a mix of new tunes and arranged tracks from the original game. And, of course, the game will include the classic Super Mario theme. We have collected all of the video footage below for your enjoyment.

Gwoin has updated his homebrew Gamepack titled GameBoxDS for the NeoFlash competition. This game, or box set so to speak includes four unique games in one. We have reviewed previous versions of this gamebox before and the games are quite amusing and entertaining. Here are the following games and a brief description about them.

PingMine: a mix between a MineSweeper and a labyrinth. Help Marcel the pingouin to go to its igloo without falling in a hole. But there is a deep fog and the pingouin just know how many holes are around him.  Put a flag where you think there's a hole, by pressing [A] + the direction pad. Featuring 5 levels of difficulty.

DS4: a "Power4" game. Play versus the AI (15 levels of difficulty) and just try to align 4 pieces of your colour in a 7x6 grid.

DSFlower: catch all the falling flowers before they touch the floor or you will loose a life. But be careful, there are more and more flowers on the screen that are falling more and more quickly. And don't catch the the wrong flowers ;^)

Reverso: A grid of 3x3 white or black pieces. The aim is to turn all the pieces from black to white. Touch a piece to return it (this will return some of is neighbours too). At start, there is a minimal number of pieces to be returned before to win. Try to win in this minimal number You can be helped in your choice by the AI of the game.
