Another roadblock has appeared in the FTC's ongoing probe into EA's hostile takeover bid for Take-Two Interactive. Take-Two has declined to comply with a subpoena and civil investigative demand from the FTC, saying that the new requests are too broad and costly. More in the full article.

Electronic Arts has announced that it will not buy Take-Two just yet. The company has made an agreement with the Federal Trade Commission that it will wait until the FTC finishes its probe into the takeover proposal. More in the full article.

Tecmo has fired off a response to Tomonobu Itagaki's statement yesterday in which the Ninja Gaiden and Dead or Alive creator announced his departure from the company. In the statement, Itagaki also accused Tecmo of not paying him a pre-agreed bonus for Dead or Alive 4 as well as causing him "significant emotional distress". Tecmo's response at the full article.

Valve's critically-acclaimed FPS-slash-puzzle title, Portal, has finally come to the DS. No, it's not an official port, but t4ils' homebrew title StillAliveDS does give DS owners a chance to experience Portal's innovative game mechanics on their handhelds. More after the jump.

Roughly 28 years after it was first released, gamers are still getting mileage out of the Commodore 64 through emulation. If you want to play some of the classic titles from this system on your Nintendo DS, you might want to check out GPF's FrodoDS C64 emulator. AQ Interactive's most recent financial report has shed some light on the company's upcoming games. For this fiscal year, three DS titles (one of which is Blue Dragon Plus), an unnamed Wii title, and four portable games from Xseed are slated to hit North America. More in the full article.

The rumored publishing deal between Sega and Platinum Games has finally been confirmed by way of a recent press release.
