Alekmaul has released an adaptation of ColEm (portable ColecoVision emulator by Marat Fayzullin.) for the Nintendo DS. He says that this is the first version, that the sound is not emulated, and the pallete is a little dark.

The ColecoVision was, in the early 1980's, one of the best game console systems available. It provided rich graphics and had the best accuracy in games translated from the stand-up arcade machines. Here is a picture for those of you who prefer a visual:

Happiness (japanese)

Unfortunately, the whole thing was an accounting error. Nintendo processed an order for wages payment through Kyoto Bank on September 20, then realized it had sent though faulty information. The bumbling bean counters then sent through a second, correct order. However, (it gets complicated here) the first order wasn't cancelled. Thus, double bubble for Nintendo's loyal, but slightly bemused salary-folks.

Alas, Nintendo's offices did not suffer a frenzied evacuation of delirious suits, streaming towards Kyoto's bars and drinking dens. With thrilling efficiency, Kyoto Bank sucked the money back, and returned it to the safe bosom of Nintendo Ltd. What larks.

RE:DS will make use of both screens, (No way!) with the bottom screen displaying most of the action, and the top screen displaying your stats and a map of the area. To determine how much life you have left, you'll have to look at the background color of the top screen. For instance, if it's red, you'd better run. As with previous Resident Evil games, the map will only display the areas you've been through, unless you've gotten a full map of the area.

The touch screen and possibly the microphone will be implemented in this game. Puzzles would make use of the stylus, with Nintendo Dream showing off a new puzzle involving a record player, according to IGN. IGN also said that Nintendo Dream hinted at using the stylus to wipe blood off the screen, and using the microphone to give mouth-to-mouth to other characters.

The stylus will also be used for knife battles in the game, during which the game automatically switches to first person view at certain point in the game, and you have to use the stylus to slash at oncoming zombies. After you've finished the battle, the game will go right back to regular Resident Evil view. Nintendo Dream also stated that the game will be multiplayer for up to four players. We do not yet know whether this would be co-op play, deathmatch type battles, or something else.

This game does not have a release date yet, but people are expecting it to be out in time for the anniversary of the original, next year. Stay tuned to N-Next for more info.

DSudoku03

Gluck has released a Sudoku game for NDS, DSudoku.  Here is what he had to say:

I removed the '0' number, instead, there is a coloured background on each empty square.
I also added an input method : when you click on a square, it opens a selection window, where you can choose which number to add. You can't change a number which was already on the Sudoku Table.

You can get it in our NDS Download section [here].

MarcaDS_V01_1

Alekmaul has released MarcaDS. MarcaDS is an arcade emulator. It uses the same principle as Mame but it's not using its code,Mame is too huge for our little DS :), but it's just my opinion. To use this emulator, you must have compatibles ROMS with NO COMPRESSION ZIP format. With this version, emulated games are:

Pacman
– MsPacman
– CrushRoller
– Pengo

You can get it in our Nintendo DS Download section [here].
