Remember when Konami sued Harmonix over Rock Band (Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, Wii) for alleged patent infringements last year? Well, Harmonix and owner Viacom is fighting back with a counter-suit filed Wednesday. The counter-suit claims that Harmonix's games represent improvements over the original Konami designs and that Rock Revolution (Xbox 360, PS3, PS2, Wii, DS) actually has more in common with Rock Band than with Konami's earlier rhythm games. Viacom and Harmonix are seeking compensation for damages (that means cash) as well as a motion to keep Konami from selling Rock Revolution, which isn't really all that hard seeing as how badly the game flopped. » i pity Konami
they invented the music genre
created tons of games around the formula
now some other company that ripped them off and added licensed music is sueing them.
how can a company that made/invented music rhythm game be sued for copyright infringement of a newer music rhythm game?
konami already have guitar drum piano keyboard vinyl mic music sims long before any american company ripped em.
i am a bemani fan since ps1 era and i know what is the TRUTH. too bad american law has too many loopholes that are manipulated by greedy people.

The only rhythm games Konami ever did right were the very first Bemani series.

I hadn't even realized that Rock Revolution came out...
"The NPD Group reported that Rock Revolution sold fewer than 3,000 copies in October 2008 in the United States, the game's first month of release. These sales breakdown to 1,442 for the Xbox 360, 816 for the PlayStation 3, 666 for the Nintendo DS, and two for the Wii."

Typhoon00 left out a line. If you know anything about Rock Revolution is that it hasn't even been released for the wii. The actual quote from Wikipedia is as follows
The NPD Group reported that Rock Revolution sold fewer than 3,000 copies in October 2008 in the United States, the game's first month of release. These sales breakdown to 1,442 for the Xbox 360, 816 for the PlayStation 3, 666 for the Nintendo DS, and two for the Wii.[11] The number of copies for the Wii is inaccurate though as the Wii version was not released until November 11th

» Who cares
It's still funny. 3000 copies is terrible and laughable on its own
I still find 666 for DS strange

That's not ironic, that's mandatory, all music game peripherals must be cross compatible, at least with sony, not sure with MS
