Ubisoft coming to Japan - Image 1It's not the first time for Square Enix and Ubisoft when it comes to publishing partnerships. This year though, the two buddies will grow even closer as Squeenix distributes Ubisoft titles into the Japanese market. According to the latest issue of Famitsu, Yoichi Wada made the announcement and the first games of this partnership will start coming on April.

According to Wada, Squeenix will not only work with Ubisoft to bring Western games to Japan, but also in other yet-to-be-revelead ways. A Squeenix-Ubisoft game perhaps? It's not clear if the Japan releases will have both of the publishers' names on the cover, but Wada suggests that Square Enix will be playing a big role in the localization and marketing of the games.

It can't be denied that the Japanese gaming market has a great disparity from Western shores. It is one of Square Enix's hopes that Japanese gamers be better acquainted with Western titles, which is exactly what they're pushing for right now. With 950 special shops thoughout Japan, they've got the machinery to do just that.
