Well so much for Nintendo's efforts to block flashcarts from the DSi. The Acekard team has announced that it has successfully developed a flashcart that is DSi-compatible. According to the Acekard team, the 2i is "completely compatible with Acekard 2." The flashcart, called the Acekard2i, will be commercially available soon enough.

This release shouldn't surprise our regular readers. We've reported before about the vid Acekard released showing a lab version flashcart running on the DSi. Back then though, they said it was "almost impossible" to release a commercial product of their then-current method, so I expected their release to be much later.

Here's a vid of the Acekard2i in action:

This is all good news but, would it have any effect on the flash cart if there is a system update on the firmware?

IMO, I don't think so, but still.

Anyways good work team Acekard. But I'm keeping my fingers crossed for team Cyclo now.

Sorry, Acekard: Nintendo team releases first Acekard bricking firmware.

anyways, if you don't update it, u won't be able to play new releases.
like most console games, new release will come with the latest updates and will automatically update ur firmware if u want to play them.

Then people will just crack the firmware like they did for PSP, and all DSi flashcarts will run off a CFW kernel, allowing them to run games without fear...their is ALWAYS a way around anti-homebrew/piracy
