A member of The Sonic Stadium forum boards dedicated to the blue blur found that a "Sonic Rush Adventure" was recently trademarked before the US Patent and Trademark Office by Sega. His screenshot of the search hit is shown above. A sequel to Sonic Rush, perhaps? Blue blur fans are speculating on the "Adventure" portion of the title, suggesting comparisons with the Sonic Adventure games.

Scrolling platformer plus elements from Sonic's Dreamcast outing? There's speculation that this could also be way past the DS, like in console territory - although that might eat into the PS3/Xbox 360 Sonic the Hedgehog and Wii Sonic and the Secret Rings continuities.

Here's something you won't find anywhere else - except of course if you live in France or some place in Europe. Jeux-France has unearthed two exclusive offers from Leclerc, which we assume is a French store with a regularly updated and circulated catalogue. (Thanks to Babelfish for the loose translation).

The two exclusive offers would appeal to gamers who've yet to purchase a pink or black DS Lite, or who've yet to own Sonic Rush or Project Rub. The latter title strengthens our belief that the bundles are Europe-bound.

The first bundle includes a pink DS Lite, the naughty game Project Rub (a.k.a Feel the Magic: XY/XX in North America), and a t-shirt for €129.99 (US$ 165). The second bundle includes a black DS Lite, Sonic Rush game, and a Sonic figure for €169.99 (US$ 216).

Though these bundles are worth checking out, we still wonder what compelled Leclerc to offer games that have been in the market for almost a year now.

SEGA of America, Inc. today announced the release of Sonic Rush on the Nintendo DS. Described by GameSpot.com as "the best Sonic game in nearly a decade", this fast-paced side-scrolling adventure uses both of the Nintendo DS screens in displaying its play field. This setup maximizes the intensity of the game's dizzying dives, near-vertical curves, extreme jumps, and brain-twisting loops.

The fastest hedgehog in the world is now pairing up with a mysterious character named Blaze the Cat. This dynamic duo heads out in search of the powerful and dangerous Sol Emeralds to ensure that they do not fall into the wrong hands. In their quest, Sonic and Blaze must battle all-new enemies, and as they do, ripple effects will change the events of their worlds' inhabitants.

"Sonic Rush combines the gameplay finesse and level design of the classic 2D Sonic titles with fully 3D character models, bosses and effects," said Scott A. Steinberg, Vice President of Marketing, SEGA of America. "The dual screen playfield on the Nintendo DS makes it easier than ever to follow the action, and the stylus works perfectly with the traditional Chaos Emerald minigames."

Sonic Rush is rated "E" for ‘Everyone' by the Entertainment Software Review Board, and is available at retailers nationwide for an MSRP of $34.95.

Here is quite a number of boxart which will be coming soon for the Nintendo DS. Above is the boxart for Sonic Rush which will be released in the US this Fall, 2005, and in Europe on November 18, 2005.



Above is the US boxart for Dig Dug: Digging Strike Dig Dug: Digging Strike has no US or European release date as of now.



Above is boxart for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 3: Mutant Nightmare, a side scrolling beat-em-up from Konami. No release date has been announced for it. I loved these turtles as a kid!



Above we have the American boxart for Whac-A-Mole, being developed and published by Activision for the Nintendo DS. No release date or screenshots have been released for Whac-A-Mole. I had this as a handheld game with little moles that lit up and made funny sounds. “Let’s play Whac-a-Mole!”



Check out this FIFA 2006 DS boxart above. There is no release date yet for FIFA 2006 DS, but we’re sure this game will be made with some unique feature for it.



Snowboard Kids boxart, the ‘hot’ snowboarding game similar to the Mario Kart series. Snowboard Kids is being released in the US in Q4 of 2005.



Above is the US boxart for Scooby-Doo: Unmasked! Not much is known about this game, or even if it will have scoobie snacks (but our guess is yes.)



Next is a Tak 3: The Great JuJu Challenge boxart. Tak 3: The Great JuJu Challenge has a US release date of September 15, 2005.



Last on the boxart tour isTony Hawk's Underground Wasteland has its boxart above. Instead of the normal, realistic graphics of the series, this game features cel shaded, cartoony visuals that are sure to please the eye and be very fun as well.

The Sonic Advance titles on Game Boy Advance were personally some of my favorite titles on the system. I?ve always loved Sonic, but honestly the 3D games just weren?t cutting it. Luckily, SEGA isn?t dropping the classic Sonic games, and Sonic Rush feels just like the Sonic titles you grew up with ? only with that special DS twist. So what exactly does SEGA have planned this time around?

Game Features

- Fully utilizes Dual Screens. Long steep dives, super high jumps, huge loops and more look spectacular on the Nintendo DS.
- Sonic pairs up with a new female lead. Play as either Sonic the Hedgehog or Blaze the Cat ? a queen from a different world and protector of the ?Sol Emeralds?.
- Parallel universes collide. Journey with Sonic and Blaze on two separate adventures that intertwine. The storylines and outcomes will differ, keeping you in suspense while doubling up on the fun!
- Stylus support allows for a truly innovative control scheme on selected gameplay modes.

We?re glad to see Sonic back, and while the more 3D approach at E3 2004 was intriguing, Sonic Rush at E3 2005 drew a lot of oohs and aahs for its solid gameplay (especially the very fast speed) and gameplay innovations (the gameplay occurring on both screens could turn out to be very interesting). Since the demo in May was very short, there are still many unknown variables, but we should find out more as the game nears its fall 2005 release.
