Firaxis, 2K Games' Sid Meier's Civilization Revolution - Image 1

It looks like another revolution is brewing as Firaxis and 2K Games announced the North American release date to the console-oriented version of the popular Civilization franchise. Following the June 6 release in Europe, gamers in the States will now be able to enjoy the same turn based strategy addiction Civilization Revolution (Xbox 360, PS3, and DS) has to offer as it's all cleared for launch this June 8.

In addition, the game's official website mentioned that players in the U.S. and Canada will be getting more bang out of their buck once Civilization Revolution is released in the region. Extensive multiplayer tournaments will be scheduled, running off the Civilization multiplayer demo. Winners of these tournaments can expect limited edition swag, cash prizes and the chance to compete against the teams at 2K and Firaxis.

There will also be gift-with-purchase programs set up with some retailers in the U.S. and canada. There are still a couple of details to be worked out with these promotional bonuses, so make sure to keep coming back to this spot for more updates regarding Sid Meier's Civilization Revolution.

 » Sweet

I am so getting this game. Nothing like turn-based strategy. This is why I liked Fallout & fallout 2, and of course, all of the Civ games!!!

Plus, free gifts!
