Sega Superstars Tennis: video game details - Image 1

Fresh from his escapades at the Olympic games in Sonic & Mario at the Olympic Games, Sonic the Hedgehog's gearing up to make another appearance on yet another all-star sports game, Sega Superstars Tennis.

A recent interview with the game's producer, Toby Allen, reveals more info about the game. If you didn't know already, and if the game's title didn't reveal it straight off the bat, Sega Superstars Tennis will be featuring an all-star cast of well loved Sega characters.

Some of the characters we'll be seeing are Sonic, NiGHTS, Ulala from Space Channel 5, and even Aiai from Super Monkey Ball. What's more is that the tennis matches in the game will be held right in their home worlds.

Aside from mini-games, Superstars will also be featuring minigames, with themes that are set for the world of each character. There's a game where you have to collect gold rings for Sonic, and one where you have to kill zombies in the House of the Dead stage.

In Sega Superstars Tennis, you'll also be able to do superstar shots. It's exactly how it sounds; you do an extremely powerful shot that can send your opponent flying. That is, if you don't miss your shot.

For online play, the game will have some of the features that Virtua Tennis 3 had. You'll be able to play on tournaments, and you can invite your friends to a match or go on doubles. Unfortunately, it's been announced that the Wii version won't have online support.

Sega Superstars Tennis will be released for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and the Nintendo Wii and DS platforms late this March. We'll keep you posted on updates. To watch the whole interview with Toby Allen, follow the link below.
