Screens: FF Tactics A2, combat, cutscenes and cockatrice

Although the original Final Fantasy Tactics Advance on the GameBoy Advance faced a lot of criticism in its time, you have to admit that now that we're all done playing through Final Fantasy XII the foreshadowing of the re-imagining of Ivalice is quite eerie. But ignore the Squeenix fanboy talk, the news here is that the folks at WorthPlaying have four new screenshots of the upcoming DS game Final Fantasy Tactics A2. Behold:

Judging from the screens it seems that the NDS version of the old GBA game is set to showcase the same old gameplay, only, with the expected additional tweaks. Note the lack of judges, the re-use of the some old job classes from Final Fantasy Tactics Advance, and that creepy giant Cockatrice. Here's a closer look at the foul fowl:

DS Games should LOOK like DS games.
GBA games should look like GBA games.

What if you went out and bought a brand new $$Shiny$$ PS3, but then realised that all of the new games for it still looked like the PS1? Crappy right?

I love my DS, but too often the games look like GBA titles with a (often under-used) second screen on top. The diffence in hardware isn't as drastic as GC to Wii or PS2 to PS3, but I really think they can do better, even with 2D titles like this.
I mean, this doesn't even look different than the old game--that shouldn't fly, even on the same console, we should clearly see that we're playing a newer, hopefully better game.
