SNK vs Capcom: Card Fighters DS - Image 1

DS owners who got themselves acquainted with the game-crippling glitch of SNK vs Capcom: Card Fighters DS should be able to sleep more fitfully now. It seems that SNK Playmore has finally taken notice of the little teensy bug that prevents you from getting a 100% completion rating of the game, and has now mobilized a replacement program for the carts.

The process itself isn't too hard, with the steps clearly detailed on the company's official website. First, players must register their carts on the site's product registration page, then fill out a form asking for the usual details (name, address, email address, etc.) Players then have to print out the completed form and mail it in along with the defective cart at the address provided. Something to remember - don't send in the package the cart came in, or its manuals. They just want the cart.

Shipment of the replacement carts will begin on June 1, 2007, with the carts themselves shipped out in the order that they're received. So be quick about it and send in your cart now, if you want your replacement game to come back early.

Certainly glad that SNK Playmore's doing something about the bug that stops the enjoyment of the actual game into a dead halt. Updates as we get them, and you can view the actual step-by-step guide on SNK Playmore's website via the read link below.

SNK vs. Capcom Card Fighters DS,
the game that pits legendary (and some less famous) characters from SNK and Capcom has been released in Europe. The latest edition of the Card Battle Tournament features over 300 all-new collectible cards. Each one carries varying hit points and special abilities based on the SNK or Capcom character.

"SNK's card battling series has been updated for a new generation of gamers" according to Ignition Entertainment. "Mixing characters from two of the arcades biggest names only adds to what is a truly fun and exciting game of tactics and skill."

But SNK vs. Capcom Card Fighters DS isn't all adversarial. Got duplicate cards? No prob! The game allows trading by using the Recycle machine or stop by the shops to get new cards.

Here are some more screenshots and artworks of SNK vs Capcom CardFighters from Famitsu. While we were but blown away by the amazingly disastrous internet translation, these screens make it all quite worth it, really.

And with only less than a week to go before it starts showing up on Japanese store shelves, this batch will really make you wish it would hurry up and just get here. Indeed, the DS has brought card gaming to a whole new height by integrating technology with good ol' card game fanfare.

If you yourself are an avid cards collector, then you'd be glad to know that the cards appearing in the original game, Neo Geo Pocket, were releases as a physical card game, called VS. Hmmm...Maybe they'll do the same for here.

Card GameWe've covered some card games before, but SNK vs. CAPCOM card fighters DS takes the cake. It's got to be one of the more creative ways to integrate a card game and a fighter. Using cards in games are all the rage in Japan right now, we honestly don't know how others will react to this game. Admit it, you sometimes play fighting games to relieve some stress. The last thing on your mind is strategy, the first one is to just pound the enemy lifeless.

Well, if it has a market out there, it'll sell. Especially if you got SNK and CAPCOM to back it up. For those others interested in more "peaceful" games, SNK just got some games for the DS planned to roll out in a couple of months. The game was presented, along with some other new additions, this September 22 in an SNK press conference. The other games mentioned were (temporary titles): Your hero, Iroha of electronic made log love, and Throbbing witch judgement. So far, there's almost no information on what these games are, or when they're coming out, but once they do--we'll cover it for you.

More images await after the jump!

Famitsu has more screenshots of some of the most anticipated games for the DS. We've got scans for you to look at here. No real information is found, but clicking the scans will give you a good look at how the upcoming games will be.

Mario Hoops 3-on-3 is in development by Square Enix and should see a release later this year. A North American release should follow closely after the Japanese release. It is one of the most graphically promising games on the DS.

Starfox Command sees a new model for Fox for some reason. It'll be trying to recapture the audience that games like Star Fox Adventures and Star Fox: Assault turned off. It will also be released later this year.

Starfox Command

SNK vs Capcom Card Fighter DS is the highly anticipated title from SNK. It is the last title that will be made using the SNK and Capcom contract from years back. If we ever want to see another one of these, we'll need to hope they work another agreement out.

A Fresh Tingle's Rose-Colored Rupee Land is just the greatest title in the history of entertainment - what more do you want?

Ben Herman of SNK had an interview with Advanced Media Network, and he talked about every system on the market and in the upcoming market! The interview had a strong Nintendo focus and it's obvious that he believes that much of his company's revenue will be coming from Nintendo. Why? Well, it looks like he's tired of the cold shoulder Sony gives to most 2D games. The HD-era poses the same problem the 3D-era did. With the PlayStation, Sony was reluctant to allow 2D games to be on the system. Now, with the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, both Sony and Microsoft require games to be in high-definition. This means that SNK can no longer port their arcade series, Metal Slug, onto these systems. On the other hand, he praised Nintendo for allowing so much creative freedom with the Wii. What does that mean? It's time that Wii enjoyed the spotlight with SNK.

Not only that, but some huge announcements were made.Metal Slug Anthology for the Wii and SNK vs Capcom Card Fighters DS will both use the Nintendo WiFi Connection! Online Metal Slug and SvC Card Fighters! The PSP and Wii versions of Metal Slug Anthology will be identical with changes in the bonus material. Another huge difference will be the control scheme. The Wii version will allow you to use the controller features while the PSP version obviously won't. Whether or not the PSP version will be online was not discussed. The anthology will not feature Metal Slug 6 because it only hit arcades this past February. The Wii version has been in development for three months now.

Herman also expressed a large amount of interest in bringing old SNK games for the Nintendo Virtual Console. He would have liked to do it for the Xbox Live Arcade as well, but he is put off by the fact that some systems cannot use it because they don't have a hard drive. Every Wii comes with a 512 MB internal flash drive built-in. If Nintendo gets SNK on board, they could add the Neo Geo system to their list of growing consoles supported.

The classic Neo-Geo Pocket Color card battle game is making its return to the gaming industry, but this time around it will be found on the Nintendo DS. Although we're not quite sure what role the touch screen will play, we do hope that SNK vs. Capcom Card Fighters DS will live up to the venerable name.

Ever since the original release back in 2000 this game has been a popular card battle title, and this time around you can expect to see the same match-ups between Capcom and SNK that made the original so great. While the US release is still unknown, a Japanese release is currently planned for December 31, 2006.
