Remake rumors went wild a few days ago with the ominous gold and silver confetti balls on Japanese TV show, Pokemon Sunday. As it turns out, word on the street had it right - Pokemon Gold and Pokemon Silver will both be getting out of their pokeballs and back in action in their new remakes.

Having sold over 23 million copies worldwide, Gold and Silver have apparently decided that they have not caught-'em-all, so they're suiting up for one more hurrah, much like what happened with Fire Red and Leaf Green. The remakes, named Pokemon Heart Gold and Pokemon Soul Silver, will be making their way to the Nintendo DS as part of the franchise's tenth anniversary.

As far as release dates go, this one's expected to drop in by Autumn 2010. The remakes will, of course, have features that the originals do not. I can already see the DS flying out of the shelves for this one.
