Cyber-athletes, put your game faces on! A report has surfaced and it reveals that Madden NFL 09 (Xbox 360, Wii, PSP, DS, PC, PS3) has gone past gold and is rushing towards store shelves. The release date is said to be August 12, 2008.

According to 1UP, the football sim is just about ready to go in this new season. Improvements to the commentary, play calling, presentation, and other gameplay tweaks are waiting to be tested by the franchise's large fan base.

Perhaps the sweetest addition to this year's installment is an enhanced AI that automatically adapts to the skill level of a player. Awkward phases which traps players in the limbo of difficulty settings which are either too easy or too hard should now be in the books.
