Namco Bandai announced today that their fun brain teaser (yes, there is such a thing), QuickSpot, has just gone gold and is now prepped to boggle the minds of DS users all over North America. For those not in the know, the game's main objective is for you to be able to spot the differences between two seemingly similar pictures via the handheld's touch screen and microphone.

The game sports loads of exciting features, so make it easy on your eyes, here's how we'll do this:
  • Single Player modes
    • Rapid Play - the main game mode which has five levels with 10 stages each spot the differences in 10 seconds or less to advance to the next stage.
    • Focus Play – contains 140 unique pictures with 10 differences for the player to spot
    • Brain Activity - Test your intuition, concentration, recognition and other activities to see how your brain measures up.
    • Today's Fortune - gives the player her/his Health, Study, Romance, and Money fortune for the day.

  • Multiplayer modes:
    • Time Bomb - spot the difference and pass a single DS around to your friends before the time bomb explodes
    • Scramble Mode - using Wi-Fi and a single DS Card, annoy and disrupt your friend’s game by changing the color of their screen, filling it with frogs, etc.
    • Download Play - players can compete against each other on multiple Nintendo DS.
Makoto Iwai, EVP and COO of Namco Bandai Games America Inc., says, "Quickspot offers players an addictive experience...Whether you play individually or as part of a group, QuickSpot will test recognition and concentration skills to the extreme." Rated E10+ by the ESRB, QuickSpot is set to hit store shelves on March 13 with an attached price tag of  US$ 19.99.

Call it "Educational WarioWare." We've got two trailers of Namco Bandai's QuickSpot here for all the happy boys and girls to enjoy.

On the one hand, the first video features a short glimpse of math gameplay. Instead of multiplying complex sums, all you have to do is add and subtract very quickly. Just like WarioWare, you've got only a few seconds to get the answer right, or everyone who sees you frowning at the math will laugh at you in perpetuity.

On the other, we've got a sweet game of "I Spy" for you. In this case, you've got a scrolling picture, and you have to watch out for the differences in the top and bottom screens to get the right answer. If you can't spot the differences, then you're definitely going to have to train with this game on your DS.

Namco Bandai announced today a new brain teaser game for the DS which will test how keen you are to minute details and just how observant your searching eyes are. QuickSpot is a fast and challenging game of concentration, where the main objective is to spot the differences between the two seemingly identical pictures and circle the differences you find using your stylus on the touch screen. Here are some of the game's features:
  • Single player modes: Rapid Play (has five levels with 10 stages and boss challenge each), Focus Play (has 140 pictures with 10 differences to spot), and Today's Fortune which gives the player their Health, Study, Romance, and Money fortune for the day.
  • The player will be awarded medals for points they achieve based on their “Brain Activity”.
  • Brain Activity is based on Intuition, Concentration, Recognition, Stability, and Judgment. The higher the player scores in each area the more points they earn.
  • Multiplayer modes: Time Bomb (requires up to eight players to pass one Nintendo DS back and forth between turns), Scramble Mode, and Download Play in which players can compete against each other on multiple systems.
QuickSpot is set to grace your touch screens this spring. So while we wait for that, have an ogle-fest at these screens we have and perhaps start practicing your "spotting" skills?
