PirateWe've all had our shares of wild dreams when we were kids. I one time aspired to be a terrorist, blowing up people and stuff, until I meet GTA and got tired of doing that. I also wished to be a robber, a dog catcher (only my method of catching dogs were more than just using a stick with a hoop in it) - by now you're aware I'm a demented soul, who knows the Unabomber might be one of my dreaming buddies back then. Anyway, that would explain my fancy for pirates, and who could be more demented than pirates?! Until Legolas came along.

Well Orlando Bloom and his elvish looks changed the way the world viewed pirates. Add that to Jack Sparrow's crazy antics, they somehow become lovable (darn Hollywood!). They're more Popeye-like in the eyes of many now. If I'm wrong, then watch this video of the game for DS. It might still be cool to many, but to my crooked eyes it's just too...soft.

Still, I'm quite sure the game, despite being more promotional to the movie itself, can give gamers an hour of fun or two. With 17 different weapons to tote (think wielding swords, hurling axes, and smoking pistols), 29 different enemies to hack, slash, burn, dice to a thousand pieces and toast them over campfire like marshmallows (told you I'm demented), combo moves and attacks signature to each of the three playable characters (Jack Sparrow, Will Turner and Elizabeth Swann), this one might be able to give players quite a heavy punch, or a cutesy pinch to the hardcore ones - hey, DS was never made for hardcore anyway.

Scheduled for release this month, Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest is one game that can surely leave you wearing a smile...or a smirk. Check the video by clicking on the link below.

Seth Fogie has an inquiring mind. From buying an Xbox 360, it didn't take him long to start wondering whether he could squeeze the 360's internals into something a little more retro, like an old Atari 2600 case. It turns out that he could - but only if he did it backwards.

The DVD drive sits outside of the case, but other than that, Seth's done an amazing job. Those two game carts stacked on top of the 2600? Actually, those are the heatsinks for the 360's powerful chips. The 360's faceplate (well, half of it) with it's infamous ring of light? That's on the back. The power and video connectors are on the front, and there's two big fans installed on one side.

Seth has posted an in-depth how-to article on replicating his modding adventure online for others to follow - if they're brave enough!

Why every company hates DivX? Maybe the piracy problem lies behind it. But that can’t stop us from looking for our own way to support it.

This is a tutorial on how to watch your DivX videos on your Xbox 360. The reason I didn’t use “streaming”, is because the solution is not streaming the video directly, but converting your DivX video into WMV stream on-the-fly.

You can read the full article [here]. You need a Media Center PC to use this solution.

Xbox360_hw2_all_sides_final

Rymez2k from the Xboxhacker forums has successfully transfered a game save from his Xbox to his Xbox 360 and the save was functional. The way he went about doing it, however, was rather complicated:

I have succesfully got a FIFA 2004 save loaded on my 360.
Basically the steps I took are as follows:

Loaded original FIFA 2004 Game in my xbox 1
Created a profile/save.
Went into Edit Profile and changed the Profile Name, First Name, Last Name, And MyTeam.

FTPed across the following directories on UDATA4541003b and TDATA4541003b to a directory on my PC.

Then loaded up linux PC (Which has the new FATX support.)
dd out the second partition 0x130EB0000 to the end to a file (Approx 14Gb)
dd if=/dev/sda of=Partition1.dd skip=4995776 bs=1024

then mounted this image using the loopback device
mount Partition1.dd /mnt/xbox -t fatx -o loop

Next I copied the UDATA and TDATA direcories over the current ones which are at CompatibilityXbox1

Unmounted the image and dd the image back to the hard drive.
dd if=Partition1.dd of=/dev/sda seek=4995776 bs=1024

Then loaded up FIFA on my 360 and I could load the profile I had saved earlier on my original xbox.

I intend to test this with Rocky Legends aswell as that is the only other xbox 1 game I have at the present moment.

Notes. 4541003b is the game code. These codes are easy to work out.

This procedure might help people who want to transfer saves over to their 360.

Also I won't supply any images/files so please don't ask.

Ensure you know what you are doing, I take no responsiblity if you trash your pc/360 drive.
