Gyakuten Saiban heading to the PC - Image 1Here's some good news for those folks who've yet to hear of the Ace Attorney series. Capcom is now working with Daletto to port the three Gyakuten Saiban games for play on the PC.

Instead of selling a full game, however, they'll be cutting each game up into episodes for the player to go through. More on this after the jump!

The 2007 Comic-con in San Diego played host to a number of Capcom titles, one of which is none other than Phoenix Wright 3: Trials and Tribulations, the third installment of the lawyer-sim franchise that's gripping a lot of handheld gamers to the witness stands. In this video interview, we have producer Minae Matsukawa giving her two cents of Gyakuten Saiban's success in North America.

While the game was originally for the GBA, its DS remakes had continuously left the Japanese gamers always expecting the next installment. Bringing it over to the US though was a risk that, bless the heavens above, Capcom fortunately took. And now, where does Ace Attorney Nick find himself? He's continuously cos-played, Internet meme'd, and parodied. Which is, in our court records, a very flattering position to be in.

Ace Attorney - Image 1

Who would've thought that graphical novels can actually hit big in the US? Granted that calling a Phoenix Wright game a graphic novel is an understatement, even series producer Minae Matsukawa was surprised after experiencing much success. GayGamer got answers straight from one of the best female producers in the industry.

Much like cult hits, the first Phoenix Wright didn't have an explosive launch. However, as we all know, it soon went on to become one of the most celebrated titles to grace a handheld. "This very loyal [Phoenix Wright] community has been building up – since it’s been two years I come now and get to meet the fans. Everybody knows it; people love it; it’s very, very gratifying as a producer," Matsukawa said.

Thanks to the series' continued success, the US is now anticipating Ace Attorney 3. By what we hear, this third entry to the DS is sure to woo the  fans. Thing is, it's also what will determine if Ace Attorney 4 will ever see release outside its homeland.

Gyakuten Saiban 4
sold more than 500,000 copies in Japan in one week, but the west isn't exactly like-minded. Asked if number four will reach the states, Matsukawa answered:

Yes, we would like to very much, and we’re working to make sure that happens. But it’s kind of pointless if number three doesn’t do very well, so we want to make sure people know about that, buy it, and tell their friends!

Got that? We can't stress it enough - grab Ace Attorney 3, tell your friends about it, and pray that your efforts are enough to get Ace Attorney 4 on shelves.

No, this isn't the box shot. Would be cool if it was. - Image 1Great news for fans of the popular Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney series! If you've been busy crossing off the days to the U.S. version's September release, you'll be glad to know that you can finally cross off one whole month of waiting, as the Japanese version itself will come with a fully-translated English language option. Cool beans, we say!

That's not all. The game, slated for an August 23 release in the land of the rising sun and entitled Gyakuten Saiban 3, will be tagged with the Best Price label. This means buying the third title in the critically-acclaimed Courtroom Drama series will be easier on the budget, especially those looking to import the game. How much would this "best price" tag be? ¥ 2,980 or about US$ 25. Not bad, actually.

While we all can't wait on getting our hands on a copy, we also can't help but wonder what it means in regards to the game's content. If one remembers, Phoenix Wright 2: Justice for All was also shipped with an English language option, but it suffered from some rather cringe-worthy mistranslations. Add to that the fact that it only had four cases, while the first game had an extra case that took advantage of the Dual Screen's features.

While we certainly can look over a few typos here and there, will we be let down in the hopes of an extra case, seeing as the third title is being marketed as a 'budget' title? We can only speculate, but one thing's for certain - we're all itching to slam our hands down on the stand, point and yell 'OBJECTION!' once again.  In the meantime, why not take a trip down memory lane peruse our reviews of Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney and Phoenix Wright 2: Justice for All?
