Ó

0xtob (Tob) has released a new version of his NitroTracker application. NitroTracker is a music tracker for the NDS system, utilizing all of the NDS's capabilities. This application took me by storm when I first saw it, and I'm still impressed by the quality of the work done on this homebrew. The tracker supports the popular XM format which Winamp and various other music applications can play! Along with the compatibility improvements, the following changes have been made:

  • Several critical fixes in loading and saving
  • No more sample corruption on cards other than the GBAMP
  • Fixed a looping problem that caused samples to repeat themselves at a higher pitch
  • Moved to newer libnds -> better touch code that fixes touch precision problems on DSes with "the touchscreen problem"
  • File access (read and write) on Supercard CF now works!
  • Recording works without inserted/compatible card
  • "Xm" and "xM" files can now be loaded
  • Shoulder button functions: L switches screens / R + (up|down) scrolls to the (top|bottom)
  • Added a second splash screen (fortunately the DS can have two :-) Thanks to juhees for that!

 » Absolutely Awesome.

This app is hand's down the most incredible piece of homebrew I have ever used. It's ALMOST good enough to $pay$ for. But, I wish to God that he would fix this thing so that it can SAVE on the Super Card SD.

Also, make it so won't crash when loading samples that are too big or voice recording samples that are too big.

I laid some tracks with this program and then ran it through some boards at this recording studio i work out of as a joke, everybody who heard it had a completely new respect for my 'gameboy'.

....And, so did I.

Where do I contribute$?

 » contribute and supercard sd

saving to supercard sd should work now, if not, send him an e-mail. i heard, that 0xtob has only a gbamp, so debugging for other cards is quite difficult...
to contribute $ i would send an e-mail and ask for a paypal account or support him by sending bug reports (you can catch him on EFnet #dsdev)
