Nintendo logo - Image 1Nintendo has been making a lot of money over the last few months. Most would probably expect that the company's stocks would be skyrocketing at this point. However, this isn't the case as revealed by Bloomberg Japan.

Nintendo stocks fell by 5.9 percent to ¥ 45,800 (about US$ 430). This is the lowest the company's stock has dropped over a span of seven months. Rohm Co., the maker of the parts used in Nintendo's Wii game controllers, also followed suit dropping by 6.4 percent to ¥ 7,460 (about US$ 70). This is the company's lowest close since January last year.

This new trend might spell trouble for Nintendo and all of its affiliates. However, it's still to early to be certain considering a few other blue chip stocks such as Nissin Food Products and Honda also took a few hits.

 » Too bad

Nintendo's stocks keep declining! Maybe the planned Wii shortage wasn't a good idea, even though it seemed to work at first. Will Nintendo be able to increase production in time? Will they be able to make any decent first party exclusives after Smash Brothers since third party games are a wash? It's getting obvious Mario Kart is nearly the same as the GC version with minimal changes and Wii fit is just a Wii-tarded gimmick.

It looks like Nintendo's dumb luck has run out, now they need to put forth real effort.

Yes, Nintendo needs to put forth more effort, though they have been doing it for the casual gamers, but they need to put in some effort to cater to the hardcore players too. Really the first-party games are where it's at -- it's the third-party games that are bringing the Wii down.
Also, there are barely any details on Mario Kart Wii, who are you to say that it's nearly the same as the GC version right now?

it's time for Nintendo to make a new handheld, one that doesn't suck when something else comes out. A portable with Smash Bros and wifi support would be the greatest.
