If you thought that Nintendo would have given up going after the hardcore market now, you're dead wrong. They're more determined than ever, and they remain positive that yes, they can still win over the Halo audience.
Nintendo of America President Reggie Fils-Aime expounds on this belief in a chat with CNET: We think we [can] win over the Halo audience with something like The Conduit, a multi-player, online, shooting experience, or Dead Space Extraction. And you know what? Once those people buy into Wii, they'll go buy Mario Kart or Wii Fit Plus. Well, do you think his sample games should be sufficient to do the trick? Even though I like my 360 and PS3 more. THe wii has Metroid and Zelda, so it only partially fails. But, like you said, Nintendo will never win over the whole hardcore community.
Also, Reggie, if you are reading this, Wii Fit Plus will never come into my house because if I really want to stand on a board, I would go onto my porch.

Halo has a huge casual audience with a select few hardcore players that are too stubborn to move on to fair shooters that require skill to kill and not the ability to run around in circles for five minutes while you spray each other.
