Nintendo Japan's website has been updated to include a section for the
new Nintendo DSi.Some of you might be particularly interested in the spec sheet, which shows the evolution (and devolution) of the new model from the DS. Bigger screen, check. Camera, check. Shorter battery life? Boo. Longer stylus though. Does that count for something? Anyway, here are the hard numbers: Screen Size
In case you were wondering, the DSi Camera does indeed come with games. There's a facial blending tool, a way to change facial expressions, and a way to measure similarity between faces. DSi Sound allows you to play music, complete with visualizer and audio tools. It can even remove vocals and you can go karaoke. Quite unfortunately, it only supports AAC audio files, so hold on to your iPhone. The DSi Shop is the handheld equivalent of the Wii's Shopping Channel, where you'll be able to download both free and paid programs. There are already two free programs available, and that's the Internet browser and a digital notebook that lets you create moving comics. Unfortunately, gamers outside Japan won't be able to get their hands on any of these new features until next year, as the DSi is a Japan exclusive for the rest of 2008. Dangit. And another salute to ISOHaven for sending in the tip! |

Battery life seems to have take a hit 9 hours DSi 19 hours DSlite is quite a big difference.

» More things to boo about
No GBA support (They should add original Game Boy)
Face bending tool? Now that's just creepy.

» Lowest vs highest?
9 vs 19, yeah, if you compare the crappiest of that light level on the DSi vs the highest of that light level on the DSLite.
If you want to truly compare, it is 14 vs 19. Still not great, but not near as bad.
