Nintendo Dreamed Of A DSi With Two Game Slots - Image 1The Nintendo DSi has a lot of great new features, but one of the better features that didn't manage to get in the final plans was a second cartridge slot.

This idea was scrapped by Nintendo prez Satoru Iwata, saying that it made the handheld feel "big." How bigger was this model in question that the feature was just not worth the trouble? About three millimeters. Wuh?

Not that my opinion counts against Iwata's - after all the guy makes bajillions - but I'd rather have the second cartridge slot. A second slot is unnecessary of course, but it would have been nice all the same. If they can fit in a second cartridge slot though, I wonder how much bigger the handheld would have been if they decided to keep the GBA slot.

Another scrapped idea was a single rotating camera. Iwata scrapped this as well, as he was concerned that it might break easily, so he settled for the two-camera model.
