New Mario Kart Character?

Some interesting new screenshots from Mario Kart DS have surfaced. On the interesting side, we see R.O.B. Will this be a new Driver who resembles Number 5 from Short Circuit be in the game? Who knows for sure, the screenshots like promising but I guess we’ll have to wait and see.

I saw R.O.B. on display in a toy store in New York in 1985 :D

I don't think he made it to Europe :(
