In our previous article, we mentioned how the game will most
likely have a cosplay (costume play) theme. Now, Gamewatch reveals
more about Negima's gameplay. Negima definitely has two aspects - the first one being all about adventure wherein you group three players together who will then try to solve the mystery in Osaka. You must keep in mind that there should be balance among the characters you've put together, else the team would not work. The teams would then go around town and certain battles will ensue when they enter a particular area.
The battle has two stages, with the first one having a turn system where each team member will have a particular range of his own. When an enemy or monster is within her range, battles are bound to start.
The cute part about Negima's battle are the costumes. As you finish your battles, you could win the costumes dropped by monsters. Now, the costumes don't only play a crucial role in making your character appear cute, but the costumes also give special skills to your character. Here's an example: if you catch Asuna wearing a costume with the harisen (a giant paper fan), Asuna can do the Harisen Chop move. Negima is set for an October release date in Japan. Here's hoping it reaches other regions soon.

I guess, the idea of seeing your favorite female anime character cosplaying is not a fandom frenzy only for Mai-hiME fans but for Negima fans as well! This famous harem anime is now causing a ruckus in the DS with their new game, still softly entitled "NEGIMA!?". For this game, you will see the girls grab their lethal spring onions and whack some monsters down in a tough battle of cuteness and raging pubescent hormones. Of course, this is merely the physical aspect of the game, however, in terms of the story, the fans might be more familiar with this loli of a situation. As Negima-sensei, you will help your 10 yr. old students in trying to solve the hidden mystery in your Osaka campus. By giving the opportunity to use the magic that you have taught them, you and the girls take some monsters down with your magic and some tough ass kicking. But all your happy Negima fantasies doesn't end there. As you go through battles, you win clothes and prizes from monsters. If you win clothes, you have the chance to dress up one of Negima's students! Other than seeing the girls in their school uniform, you can dress them up in pantsuits, and perhaps some other wicked costume that the game has to offer. So far, no big details yet on exactly how the game play will go other than it looking like an arcade battle, but with the idea of having to play with these cute girls on your DS, wouldn't you want to get more of Negima!? |
