Leipzig's over and the Tokyo Game Show won't be till October. But that doesn't mean there won't be any other conferences around to satisfy ever-curious gamers' appetites. And this time, we won't even have to fly overseas. The Austin Game Developers Conferences is coming up next, and they've added in a nice touch to this year's event.

So is it... brains or beauty? In the UK, Dr. Kawashima's Brain Training has finally set a new record. Previously held by Lara Croft for Tomb Raider, Dr. Kawashima now holds the crown for being the longest-staying video game on the All Formats Top 10 charts. Guess it really pays to have Nicole Kidman promote your game, eh?

After the Federal Trade Commission gave its blessing to continue merger negotiations, Electronic Arts and Take-Two Interactive have finally begun its closed door meeting regarding the deal. However, it seems that both parties will be rather tight-lipped regarding the details of the meeting. "Ready for GAME time!" Tokyo Game Show 2008's theme is definitely one that can get your heart pumping. I know something else that might get your heart pumping: the full list of exhibitors to be present in this year's gaming event at Tokyo. Knowing the exhibitors at TGS 2008 might give a hint as to what games we can probably expect on the show floor (and knowing what games can, in turn, give us a hint as to what types of boothbabe cosplays we might expect to see too). This year's Games Convention at Leipzig was a sure fire success. And though some of you might not think that the same could be said about E3, GC 2009 has already been scheduled. Via press release, we find out that this year's event has set records above and beyond what GC 2007 had, and reception from the masses has definitely shown a good sign that the video games industry is booming more than it used to.
