Let's face it: The Nintendo DS is an excellent machine, but as far as (decent) RPGs go, it still suffers from a drought. Among the titles which hopefully will break the spell this summer is Lost Magic by Ubi Soft. Designed by renowned anime artist Yoshiharu Sato from Studio Ghibli (Princess Mononoke, Howls Moving Castle), Lost Magic utilizes the touchscreen for it's unique spell casting system. Reminiscent of Black & White, players will write the spell with the stylus and can find stronger spells with combinations.
250 different quests and a Wi-Fi mode will ensure that this feature will be used extensively.

Besides the UK packshot here on the left, Ubisoft also released a bunch of new screenshots. So far, the game is scheduled for a "Spring" release in both North America and Europe.
