Nintendo president Satoru Iwata - Image 1

If you think Nintendo's just sitting on their laurels after the success of both the Nintendo DS and the Wii, think again. In a recent Famitsu.com piece, Nintendo president Satoru Iwata has revealed that the company currently has more than a hundred titles slated for both the DS and the Wii.

According to Iwata, there are currently 45 Wii titles in development at Nintendo, while a whopping 79 titles are being developed for their DS handheld console. And keep in mind, those numbers are for first-party titles alone. Here's the Google-translated Iwata quote from Famitsu.com:

Presently Wii45 title and DS79 title are developed with vis-a-vis the question which is said. As for the first half of this year how it makes touch stressing, from end of the summer of this year applying Wii remote control on the end of year trade war, you do and are packed and also the game where the element is strong is the schedule which release it keeps doing.

These new titles coincides nicely with Nintendo's recently-confirmed increased Wii production.

he also suggested they'll mostly be "real gamer games" like super mario galaxy and smash

also, hideo kojima just commented that smash feels "very complete" and that if it were released now, it would still sell millions of copies

i gotta say they should've pushed back marioparty and waited for online functionality though
