Reportedly, Yasuhiro Wada reveals that a new Harvest Moon set to hit next year and that he thinks Microsoft is working on its own portable gaming device. Traditionally portable games have been overlooked by the games press. However, gone are the days when the DS and PSP simply get ports of cut-down versions of console games. Now we have exciting new properties like the Brothers In Arms game for DS in this issue or WipEout Pulse, where the game has been designed from the ground up for the device and gamers are now looking for ways to keep up to date with their favourite games on these platforms. HGZine is a great way to do this, with professionally written features and pages enhanced with video and multimedia.

It's been done before, but HGZine sounds promising.
I know this sounds like a plug for GamerZine, but...
Out of all the online "PDF" magazines, I have to admit that GamerZines is probably the best I've seen. I love their PCZine the most. Nicely laid out, and the design is great and easy to read. I absolutely love how they squeeze flash into the pages, making it more interactive (with rollovers!). That really caught me off guard, and it was a real pleasant surprise.
Sure beats the hell out of that trash Hardcore Gamer Magazine. There, I've mentioned names. I wasn't going to, but after a recent "taste" of what they had, I can say I was a bit angry after wasting my time with it. Yes, it was that horrible.
I was recently recommended to check out their online mag by a friend, and what a dissapointment. I really should slap the bejesus out of him. Their layouts are freaking ugly and a complicated mess, to put it lightly. I know it's colour is probably CMYK by just looking at how washed out it is. If it's not, then they have serious issues over there. Hey, here's a novel idea. Why not let me download an RGB version? *****s. No wonder the file size is so huge. There's obviously not a lot of content in there. Not everyone wants an ugly CMYK mag. Especially if they're reading it on their COMPUTERS. Do they want me to download the mag and print it and then read it? I don't think they deserve the ink.
And they'll probably take this idea of a RGB magazine just to correct this flaw if someone reads this. Great. That still leaves the fact that the magazine is horrible.
If the HGM guys are supposed to make money off advertising, then they can at least make it look semi decent. I would be pretty angry if I was an advertiser and had to PAY for them to put my ads in that garbage magazine. Complete waste of money for them. I know it's free, but it makes you wonder how "skillfull" these guys are. I'd hate to pay for their published work - and they do charge for the magazine as well. That's just horrible!
It's a PDF file and it reads like a freaking tarp over my car. GamerZine fully utilizes the design points of a good PDF file. Easy, full screen reading. HGM looks like they don't know how to use Acrobat or something, and that's probably the damn truth. Get with the program, guys.
If you were going to use your bandwidth to download an online mag, I would definately recommend GamerZine. At least there's more content in a smaller file size (with movies!) than that rubbish with flat grey pages called Hardcore Gamer Magazine.
I may sound spiteful, but after reading HGM's garbage I wouldn't even recommend it to my worst enemy. There's plenty of options out there on the internet, and HGM should be avoided like the plague. It's just horrible. Seriously not even the bandwidth. Okay, maybe if you want to laugh at their pathetic attempt at trying to be a magazine (if that's what you call it).
This is, just my opinion. So for whatever it's worth, do as you will. They say there's no such thing as bad publicity, but holy freaking hell! You get the idea.
Keep up the awesome job, GamerZine! You've made me a fan!

someone seems to be working at GamerZine.
Anyway would be nice if this could work on PSP but my book reader just crashes.
Must be all the "nice" flash they embedded in it.
If I can't read it on my PSP I'm not reading it, there are a bunch of better things to do, if you have a computer available.
