It's been a long time since we last heard of Square Enix's Front Mission 1st for the DS, leading us to think (fearfully) that the Front Mission project for the DS has been scrapped. But hey what do you know, a teaser video for a Front Mission title comes along!

Previously announced in the last TGS, not much is known about Front Mission 2089: Border of Madness. It's possible that it could be a replacement for Front Mission 1st, since we haven't heard about it for some time now. Of course, it's just all speculation at this point. Fans of the series will also note that Front Mission 1st is set in 2090.

This being just a teaser video, actual gameplay footage wasn't shown; viewers are just treated to character art of the many characters that will be encountered in the game. No actual release date was shown at the end of the video (like most trailer clips), but only a maddening phrase in its place: coming soon. We can only twiddle our thumbs and wait now, but you can be assured that we'll keep you updated on this one. Stay tuned!

» FM1st actually releasing this month

Don't be sad! Front Mission First is actually going to be released in just a few short weeks as just "Front Mission". Gamestop is actually taking preorders... so is Amazon.com.
