Users of Nintendo DS homebrew may already know how to view anime videos and read manga on their Ninty handheld (such as Moonshell or DSVideo), but there's another alternative if ever you want to actually support the people behind the Japanese media that you enjoy.

AM3 just recently released DSvision, a media entertainment kit for the DS that enables users to download Japanese anime, manga, and other related media to use with the DS for a fee.

The items included in the kit are similar to what you may expect from a run-of-the-mill flashcard package: an adapter, a 512MB microSD card, and a card reader. Subscribers to DSvision's service can download 20-minute videos for about 210 yen, or US$ 2 dollars, not a bad price since you're able to pick-and-choose which episodes to get, instead of an entire volume.

As for downloading manga, or Japanese comics, a 200-page book will be available for about 315 yen, or US$ 3. As a bonus, the DSvision will throw in the first few chapters for free.

The 512MB MicroSD card may not sound too accommodating, but considering that a 20-minute episode weighs in at around 40 to 45MB, and a 200-page manga at 30MB, the bundled SD card is actually good enough for one day's worth of idle entertainment.
