How would you like to not use your DS' d-pads, and instead just use a directional nub? It seems workable enough. After all, Acidmods.com was able to make it work. Like the one in video shown above.

Yup, if you'll look close enough in the video posted by grandpasmurf over at YouTube, you'd see that the d-pad had been disabled. In its place lies a digital nub, which acts as a joystick of some kind to get you through your DS navigations. From the looks of things, it makes moving around in the game easier.

Also, check out that cool button mod with blue LEDs. Sometimes, I can't help but wonder what's the point of tinkering with the final product. Then again, if you can pimp your car, why not your DS, right?

Besides, it doesn't hurt to look cooler, and at the same time remain functional.

I'm not saying it's not cool that people customize the controls of their DS, but it seems a little unnecessary given that the DS has what is arguably the most user-friendly human-interface device yet conceptualized -- the touch screen.

And this particular one seems a bit "ghetto".

That said, the light-up LED buttons look awesome.

Because it's a prototype it is ghetto.. Ultimatly we opted to add two usb ports and create a digital nub attachment as well as a tilt atachment.. so all you have to do is pop the tilt box on an tilt the DS to steer it... :)

Now the tilt attachment sounds like something I'd like to have. :D Thanks for taking the creative criticism in good humour, Grandpasmurf.
