Ó

It seems that Capcom did not claim 5.1 Billion Yen on their last tax return. In US dollars, that's around $43 million. A pretty hefty sum as you can see. They are currently under investigation by the Osaka Regional Taxation Bureau. Capcom might be fined somewhere in the neighbourhood of 1.7 Billion Yen (15 Million USD).

Looks like choice of system for their games isn't the only thing Capcom seems to lack sense in!  Check back with us for further updates.

I must agree with the news writer that Capcom lacks good sense in their choice of system. Resident Evil 5 is coming out for the PS3 and 360. What's up with that? Resident Evil is much better suited for the Revolution, where you can easily aim the gun, flashlight, etc with the controller.

 » Don't bother...

Capcom has no faith, honesty, or values as the last few years have clearly shown when it comes to supporting anyone other than Sony. They make talk up shop, start up some stuff, USE others to their advantage, but then they sneakily back out of contracts by letting them lapse or whatever to get their way. Capcom 5 anyone? One dead, others were meh, RE4 a month before release was sabotaged by them by mentioning a PS2 ver coming which would hinder at least a few hardware sales on that one alone.

Capcom sucks, deal with it...their management err mismanagement is utterly confused and stupid.

You can`t say capcom did not support or help nintendo because that is not true. first resident evil start on ps1 and got alot of fan on that system. second nintendo went to capcom to make resident evil only for nintendo, thinking it will sell more systems, the point was to hurt sony bad. but at the end capcom hurt it self by losing their fans and sales too. and to let you know capcom sale like 500.000 copy in ps2 of the game, and on the gamecube only 25.000. and to end this capcom is keep trying to help nintendo right now, they put resident evil on the nintendo ds and not on the psp which is much better suited for that game. and capcom have a bigger number of fan on playstation and a small number of fan on nintendo, that is why the next resident evil will be on ps3 xbox360 and not on nintendo. there is one thing you are right that is capcom it did lacks of a good sense in their choice of system. but they fix that by going back to sony. and for the Tax Fraud, capcom is not the only company doing something like that.

 » Incorrect Info

I don't know where you get your numbers from, but they're totally off... Here are Resident Evil's GCN numbers (worldwide):

Resident Evil 4 - 1,420,390
Resident Evil REmake - 1,393,332
Resident Evil 0 - 1,278,814

RE4, REmake, and RE0 are the 14th, 15th, and 16th best-selling GCN games respectively. Here are Viewtiful Joe's sales:

Viewtiful Joe
PS2: 95,985
GCN: 308,621

Viewtiful Joe 2
PS2: 54,255
GCN: 119,249

and Killer 7
PS2: 8,612
GCN: 21,788

The reason RE5 is on 360 and PS3 is either because of the graphics capability of the Revolution or because Capcom hates money. One of the two.

if you know so much why not give the number of resident evil 1,2,3 and 4 for ps1 and ps2, and resident evil veronica X for ps2? and please don`t count games that came first on GCN and not on ps2, I only was talking for resident evil not any others games.

I listed those because they're all sales from this generation. They're all games by Capcom. You said that Capcom's fanbase was on Playstation and not Gamecube. I disagreed because Capcom has been very successful on both the Gamecube and Playstation. Their more innovative titles have actually been more successful on the Gamecube. Killer 7 was released at the same time on both systems.

The numbers I have show RE4 at 836,384 on the PlayStation 2 and 431,269 for Resident Evil: Outbreak on the PlayStation 2. I don't have any sales data for Code Veronica X or the PSX games.
